Texas Institute of Thyroid and Parathyroid - College Station, Texas
6 hours post-op...I feel amazing! I truly had no idea just what the extent of my symptoms were until I no longer had the symptoms, I am normal again!
Before surgery I had routine blood work at my primary care doctors office. Calcium came back as 11, and a PTH test was ordered with a result of 129. I requested a specialist referral and chose Dr. Kupperfield of College Station, Texas. My symptoms were extreme fatigue, I dint feel like doing any physical activities such as grocery shopping, walking less than a block even was frustrating and made my muscles feel like I had walked five miles up an incline. I was frustrated in general and depressed and moody without any particular reason. My pace when I did walk was stiff and slow anywhere I walked, even within my house.
A couple of hours after I went from the surgery recovery room to a private hospital room the nurse asked me to get up and walk around the halls a bit. I didn't want to stop walking, and it was a normal stride! The stiffness was GONE. I feel happy and normal again! A slight soar throat, very slight, otherwise no pain.
