Hello! I have been prescribed paxil for my social anxiety disorder. This anxiety came sort of out of the nowhere. I was learning a lot, spend most of my time indoors, and suddenly got these manifestations of fear of facing people I didn’t know. Anyway, I took paxil and 3 months after I am experiencing strange symptoms. I have been having headaches, and dizziness. I have never been dizzy before unless I would stand up suddenly. And the worse of all is this neck lump that has been here for about 10 days or so. Could these symptoms be connected to paxil?

Hi there! Anything is possible with paxil. Patients are reporting all sorts of side effects from mild to severe, even death. I think you should be careful with this drug. Both headaches and dizziness are certainly side effects of paxil but not the neck lump. This lump could be swollen lump doe to some ( it could be minor, not even noticeable ) infection but it could be something else, more serious as well. If the lump doesn’t go in let’s say two weeks, you should have it checked. As for these paxil side effects, I think you should definitely change your medications, but of course not on your own! Talk to the doc who prescribed the med to you!

I know this is a very old thread, but thought i'd post for the benefit of anyone googling the same symptom.

I have been on paxil for one month & have the same lump in the throat issue....it's most definately paxil doing this....and it feels very real, very scary.

I'm taking half a tea spoon of bicarb soda in half a glass of water & it's making me burp, which releases the lump sensation a little. I'm hoping this is a passing side effect (GERD).

Take paxil with food & if you feel the lump try the bicarb remedy, it's natural & safe & it will also help rebalance your ph levels, as paxil can create acidity in the gut.
