I know that this is an older thread but I thought I'd answer anyways for anyone looking for this later. So Yes you can have your period when you're pregnant especially since it was literally one day before your period. Also, you can get pregnant when you're on  birth control pill. Or any kind of birth control. There is about 8 out of every 100 couples will get pregnant. My thoughts on this would be to take a pregnancy test asap and then go talk to a doctor, you can most likely go to a sexual health clinic and it will be 100% confidential so no one will know and you can most likely use a fake name if you want, just find a clinic that you can do that with.

Every person is different ya'all. I'm currently a medical student.. So I've had many classes on just this subject such as developmental biology. First: if you start taking BC pills on the first day of your period.. (Within 24 hrs of starting) you are "covered". If you start on a Sunday after your period, you must use other protection such as condoms for at least one week. If your not in a monagomous relationship, use condoms all the time to protect against stds. Be sure you read the insert.. For those who are latex sensitive, there are brands such as Trojan lamb that protects against pregnancy but NOT stds. So READ! Now.. When your on the pill, whether it be combo (progestin and estrogen) or the mini pill (progestin only) IDEALLY.. This pill prevents you from ovulating and it also thickens your mucus membrane that makes it more difficult for sperm to attach. But if it makes you feel better.. Then wear a condom during the typical time you would ovulate (approx 14 days after your first day of period) Of COURSE.. Nothing is 100% ... However... Your chances of getting pregnant while correctly taking BC are very slim. I've seen people get pregnant while on a IUD.. Actually, recently, a patient went in to the ER with severe stomach pains and they sent her home telling her to take pepto. An hour later, she delivered (at home by herself) a baby girl. Needless to say, that hospital is facing legal problems right now. This woman was on the IUD for years and already had four kids AND had her period regularly. I've also seen women who had "their tubes tied" also get pregnant. These aren't "typical" cases by any means. The only BC that is 100% is not engaging in sexual activity. BUT BC is highly effective. Be sure to talk with your doctor about your concerns... They go over your history and will help you figure out what would be best for you. And for Pete's sake.. Get your information from medical professionals because frankly, when I read some boards, I can't believe that people write things about stuff they don't know about. They don't tell you that they forgot to take their pill.. Or they were on antibiotics or certain other medications that lessen the effectiveness of the pill (again: talk with your doctor or pharmacist if unsure!!) and then they scare you saying they got pregnant.. Arg! Good luck

More than likely pregnancy will not occur if you are taking your contraceptive on time. I asked my doctor the same question about birth control and she said it is 99.9 percent effective and it is a 1% chance a woman will get pregnant. Yes it happens but is very unlikely. Wait a week after a supposed period to take a test. And you can spot while you're pregnant but it is not a period. It is the result of egg implantation which occurs 8-10 days after conception.  It's the body's reaction to your uterus trying to make a home for the baby. Some women mistake this for a period but chances are if you are on birth control it is more than likely a period. I tested because I spotted and sure enough not pregnant. But every woman is different. Watch for symptoms and test a week after you are supposed to have a period.

It sounds like you literally had sex te day before your period, so how would you know if you were pregnant, it takes a week for your body to register.

I have a question of  my own as well....well i have been taking my birth control pill, Orsythia, and i had sex and he ejaculated inside of me, i just have been looking for the percentage of this brand actually working against pregnancy and cant seem to be finding really any answers, even tho i shouldnt be stressing too much about this because of how tht can delay my period and then make me flip even more but i jst really need answers..
