I have the same problem. However I also have it on the lower spine discs - these herniated whilst on holiday about 7 weeks ago. It's annoying. I'm fine if I am busy but as soon as I stop it's back and seems to be getting over a bigger area.

Mine has come on following 2 herniated discs too. Both lower disc area and over shoulder blade. When my discs go the pain doesn't go down my legs it goes upward in the form of excruciatingly painful muscle spasms, I am wondering if the spasms knocked the discs out further up.

I know these are older posts, but didn't know if this could help some of you. It's what I was diagnosed with years ago after numbness, pain, etc. in my mid back to the right of my spine. (For abt 20 yrs) There is now a spot right along my scapula across form this spot. So annoying. Lidocaine patches do help, if you can get them to stay;) Gabapentin may also help some ppl, or lyrica. Good Luck and healing vibes my numbness friends.

Notalgia paresthetica is a chronic sensory neuropathy characterized by pruritus of the upper to middle back, typically below the left shoulder blade. Symptoms may include pain, hyperesthesia, paresthesia, and hyperpigmentation of the affected area.

Nope - still getting poked and prodded by doctors. Just tried a nerve block test and that didnt give me full relief. Started taking Vitamins (referred by a friend who is into holistic healing and herbal medicine) b12 and nutrient 950 w/ Vitamin K. Ive seen a big improvement but not full relief yet - but have only been on it about 2 weeks now. Hoping over time it will go away

That's it!!! I've been trying to describe this to my wife! It sounds like there are a few different descriptions written up. Here is mine:
Location: Back, right-side, just below shoulder blade, no pain - just a weird feeling.
I'm fit, for 55yo (5'7", 157lbs). Just happened about 2 weeks ago. Very puzzling. Kind of freaked out about someone writing about bugs under the skin...even though that's what it feels like. Would be very interested in a definitive answer.

I wonder if its a over abundance of skin mites that normally live on our healthy skin called "Demodex". Maybe that spot on your back is a great comfortable spot, perfect climate and darkness for the mite to thrive and due to stress or hormonal changes our immune system allowed the mite to over populated on that spot. It sounds a lot like rosacea and acne that is caused by Demodex. I have been using Ungex from Australia for my rosacea (very expensive but worth it) and it seems to be lessening the weird tingling - movement like feelings - I have had on my face. Or could it be a type of fungal infection?

It like on my back towards the right side, it feels weird kinda like the nerves are damaged like when I used my back or stretch it out it kinda tingles and hurts a bit. Like a little piercing pain sort of. It's definitely numb there I touched it and kinda like drove an object into to kind of feel it and I didn't feel anything it's weird
