What’s the treatment in peptic ulcer caused by helicobacter pilory? Can it be totally eradicated from digestive system or is it just symptomatically treated? How does it get in one’s pylorus? Thanks.

Infection with helicobacter pillory should be treated with combination of medications. There are usually used antibiotics like metronidazole, which is effective in anaerobic conditions. H2 blockers are used, like ranitidine or cimetidine. Drugs called proton pump inhibitors suppress acid production mechanism in stomach. Some of them are lansoprazole, omeprazole and rabeprazole. I had peptic ulcer and used 1 week triple therapy. It has plenty of side effects, but is very effective.
