Can I also suggest that you slightly dampen the TENS patches when you take them off yourself. I used to stick my finger under the tap, and slightly wet the patches. This does help them to stick. I have also ordered some special patches which are supposed to be for those of us who are allergic to the patches so have very sensitive skin. I nearly always came out in an itchy rash with using the ordinary ones. Shirley's idea of covering them with a plaster is also a great idea.
Brandon, you are so thoughtful about helping others. BUT if you get an invite because someone is trying to help you and hold out a hand - take it! It's so nice to be able to be pampered at times.
Hi Shirley. So glad you're feeling heaps better. I'm coming up to 10 weeks now so you must be 11 weeks on. It's getting better and better each day for me. No leg pain, just like you and the sitting is getting easier. I can relate to that feeling of the pulling, leaning over to get that food in your mouth on a fork. But we must look back and remember the days when we couldn't even sit for a meal, let alone lean forwards. Hey - that's great progress! Don't do yourself in with the grand-children over the festive season. Let them spoil you a little too.
Menzie: You're keeping that strength up. Glad that your d is getting those pills down. I am still taking the Trental and Vitamin E. Takaing Vitamin E orally and rubbing my 6" scar with pure oil.
Nick: Are you still going ahead with the op? If so, counting the days for you - it won't be long now.
Have a great Christmas everyone :D

Good to hear that everyone is getting better. My pain has been spiked. The prolo help for a very short time but then the pain came back and got worse. My leg, thigh, butt, low back, and hip. I'm still hoping for a miracle -- maybe my next prolo session will kick start the healing process. However I'm not holding my breath. So I'm counting the days to my surgery, jan. 13. I'm really nervous about it. I'm already in so much pain, i'm afraid of what the post-op pain will be like -- not sure how I'll be able to function. I'm going to give myself two weeks "off" before i start having to go to meetings again. Hopefully that will be enough. I know it will be a slow path to recovery, but as long as it leads there, i'm fine with it. I just want this thing to go away (I'm sure you can all relate). Jo (i think it was you), you said your scar was 6 inches. I thought Dr. Filler made a small 3 inch incision. Having a incision the size of a subway sandwich in my butt sounds a bit painful.
Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Let's hope for a great year

Jo, glad to hear you are on getting better too. I think I have an email from you but came onto this first and wanted to let Nick know about the incision.
OK just spent the whole day with my grandchildren.
Gotta go.

Shirley's already related that you're the lucky one who's going to have a 3 cm incision. I'm quite happy with my big scar - in fact it's disappearing pretty fast with the vitamin e I rub in twice a day.
Am keeping fingers and everything else crossed that on the 13 Jan, you'll be one the way to being a new person. Just remember to that some prunes with you! Don't worry - just think positive. Good luck from over the pond!

Thank you for all the advice and support. I'm nervous, but at the same time I'm looking at that date as the beginning of the rest of my life. Sounds cheesy, but I really hope it is.

My right leg is healed. Very little, if any, pain. My left leg is not so good. Steroid packs and patches help tremendously but it's stopped improving. It's not so bad I can't enjoy life but it's always gnawing at me and just plain hurts, sometimes intensely. I still walk a couple of miles a day and stretch and do push-ups and yard work, etc..
I'm strongly considering going back to Filler for the anti-scarring injections. If these don't work, I guess I'll let him open the left side again. I dread both options but I'm not getting any younger and I want as much quality of life as I can get.

Hello Elliott,
I just read your blog w great interest on 12/25/2019.
I had a horse accident while working on our ranch and have been dealing with severe buttock, groin and leg pain for 7 years. Surgeons have agreed...they don’t think my pain originates in my spine. However, none of them mentioned Piriformis Syndrome! At your suggestion, I looked up Dr Filler’s web site and his explanations about Piriformis Syndrome fits my condition to a tee.
I was wondering how you are doing now? Have you had problems with scarring from the resection of the muscle? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I wish you the very best from Colorado and thank you in advance for your time!
John D.
