hi the uncontrollable farts are due to our fibre diets

Im on my 26th day and yes, constant farts and some pus leakage not much but little and also little blood after every pooping(due to stretching i guess)...my doc said its normal...wish you and everyone a hearty recovery!

Hi! Im on my 2nd week after op. What I did to heal faster are the ff:
I drink aloe vera juice to heal faster the wounds inside ( I read it online). It also makes your poop softer.
I put epsom salt and povidone-iodine in my sitz bath. That eliminate the discharge and bleeding.
I drink 4 tablets of vit C (500mg) everyday.
I drink half glass of water with 1 table spoon of apple cider with empty stomach in the morning before breakfast.
I also take 1 table spoon of Laurin coconutMCT oil 3x a day. Together with 1 table spoon of honey.
I ate pomelo, add more fiber in my diet. I now dont depend on stool softener. And dont feel much pain unlike on my 1st week hell of experience. Hope this help.

Decided 2 weeks ago to have the surgery. Had 2 large internals and 2 externals removed. Highly respected Doc had said there was no other option on the table other than I just live with them. A couple long time docs I know had told me it is is a very painful recovery. Boy, were they so correct. 3 days into recovery I had to go back in OR as my bowels had locked up, bladder also. It was hours and hours of excruciating pain I have every had and I've had 2 knee replacements which didn't even come close to the pain levels. So 2 weeks into recovery and I'd say i'm starting to turn the corner and see improvements. Taking small dose of Miralax daily to ensure BMs are soft. Still painful though to have BMs. Warm baths as well as sitz baths are the answer. I'd recommend anyone considering this surgery to ensure they have at least 3 weeks planned to recover, stay home and no travel unless going to doc's. You'll want bathroom facilities close by for the 3 weeks. Just sayin..

Forgot to add I also have a little pus-like ooze but doc's office said they is normal and no worries. I'll try the salt in the Sitz as others have mentioned as well as the OTC antibiotic cremes.

Hi all.

50 year old male here. Had the hemorrhoidectomy 2 1/2 weeks ago. Surgeon didn't speak with me after the procedure to tell me exactly how much was removed, but I had been dealing with extreme pain and excruciating extreme pain during bowel movements for about 2 months and still happy I had it done.

First week of recovery went very well. Told it would be painful, but it never came closed to to pain I had before the surgery. By the second week I was up and active and able to resume most normal activities.

My biggest concern now is the leakage. There was some leakage before the procedure which I assumed was the large hemorrhoid preventing the area from closing up completely. Now the leakage is much worse. Using various gauze pads and dressings, but yes, embarrassing, must be changed a few times a day, and still end up with gross soiled underwear.
Now also dealing with skin irritation (ugh, too damned old for diaper rash).
Made the mistake of looking on the google and see some people saying it can go on for weeks, months, years.

Have my first follow up next week. Will see what the Dr says...

I jjust had my fissure surgery 3days ago. How do i take care?

Just found this forum after searching because I just had the surgery. I'm not sure how much was taken out but it was a combo of internal and external hemorrhoids, along with a internal one that had "popped" out and was stuck. The surgeon said it was the largest he has ever seen and they pretty much had to cut around my whole rectum in a circle, so it was pretty rough. Right now I have the luxury of having 3 weeks off work paid, then a option to work from home if I need to. I am trying to not keep anything covered with gauze and am using Epson salts for baths, tucks pads for wiping, antibiotic creme for a topical coating, and taking the normal stool softeners. I am also trying to get as much fiber in as i can with the fiber supplements etc.

Was it worth it? To me absolutely. The pain is hell when having a BM, but is ok after soaking. It beats having to push hemorrhoids back in every time I have a BM as well as having to take a bath every single time. There were even times when too much physical activity (which wasnt very much honestly) made one pop out and I would need a long hot bath to get it back in. Also on 2 separate occasions had to goto the ER to get them lanced when they popped out because they were stuck and needed to be drained.

As I mentioned the pain is bad, really bad. But only lasts for about an hour after a BM. The other problems as many others have mentioned is the mucus/blood discharge, I see most of this in the morning when I wake up. Throughout the day I try to wipe as much as I can out with the tucks pads and keep the area clean, but it is random on the amount and times when there is discharge, so I have to change my underwear and pants several times a day for now. I'm only on my second week so far so I will post back in another week or so to update progress, I am hoping for a recovery at least from the mucus draining within the month.

Hi all. .I also have the same problem right now, i've been in a week after surgery, luckily my bleeding stops on the 2nd day of my opperation. If you have guava plant near your area you can use it's leaves as an antiseptic. Put it in a boil for several minutes untill you the water gets dark then use it as a substitute for your sitz bath, same procedure but just use the water from the boiled guava leaves. Today marks my 10th day after the procedure and i got no bleeding, even during BM pain is reduced and barely no blood. I am just concerned with the PUS/Mucus that is comming out of it. Like the other comment i still use panty liners even if it's so awkward because i'm a boy ;p. .I hope that this could help with your healing
