Hello! I am a 28 years old woman, healthy ( so far ), never gave birth, involved in a 3 months relationship. Last night I had some burning sensation in the genital area and this morning when I went to the toilet to pee, there was some blood in the urine. I got so scared. I can’t get through my doctor. IS there anybody who could tell me what this could be? Is it serious or will it go away? Could it be an STD? Any info is more than welcome!!!!

Hi there! As far as I know, blood usually indicates something serious and it shouldn’t be played with it. It could be nothing as well but you need doctor’s evaluation. When there is blood in the urine in women, that can mean that it is coming from the vagina. It could be kidneys or urinary tract infection. Burning is usually connected to UTI. Another possibility is a viral infection or even medications that cause blood thinning. As you can see, there are many possible causes and the only way to know for sure is visit your doc.

hello.. and elyssa.. you are showing symptoms for a bladder infection, i suggest that you go to the doctors ASAP because i had that happening to me and i waited 4 days before i told my parents because im 17 and i had just had sex for the first time about 2 days before that and i was scared.. and becausei left it i ended up getting a kidney infection and i was very ill for nearly 2 weeks. so get that check out as soon as you can so it does not turn into something more serious than a bladder infection which can be treated very easily with medication

It seems to happen to a lot of women. I had this once, but i was also embarassed and didnt see a doctor for 2 weeks. He just gave me some bladder infection pills(which didnt work) but it was to late, ended up getting a kidney infection and was in the hospital for a couple days only because i was drinking so much water and wasnt going to the washroom. They call it drowning yourself. Anyways! Dont be stubborn like me and see a doctor right away :-)
