First of, I'd like to make a poetry thread. And i set a challenge for it. Write a poem about something, in fact anything you like. Even if you think its rubbish, go ahead and post it, you might be surprised how interesting and fun it can be.
I'll start it off. This is a poem i wrote during a darker moment during the week.
**A route to madness**
I feel a darkness
I feel a darkness
I feel a darkness a comin’
Comin’
Etching
Racing
Scratching at my peripheral vision
My vision
My vision
My god damn vision!
I feel it
I see it
Its building
Its growing
I feel the space is flowing
Flowing
What do I do
What do I say
Its inside me
Its running away
I cant take it
Kill it
I feel its gonna burst
Hands to claws
Rocking the floor
Feel the feeling
See the seeing
Greet the greeting as it comes to an end
Damn it all

My Eyes
look deep into my eyes
you will see the shadows of darkness
full of secrets;full of lies
that's what you will see when you look into my eyes.
ask me what i believe in
you will find i do not answer
a "friend" crushed all my beliefs
therefore don't ask me what i believe in.
search the depths of my soul
you will find there is no soul to search
the criticizing, bashing words of the world erased my soul
so you cant search my soul for there isnt one to search.
ask me what i feel inside
you will find i do not reply
for all my feelings were washed away when the one i loved said goodbye
so don't bother to ask me what i feel inside.
ask me who my friends are
you will find i mention no names
for all my friends have turned their backs on me
so don't care enough to ask me who my friends are.

you will see the sorrows of the world
and all the tears I've cried from somewhere deep inside
that's what you will see when you look into my eyes.

I do not feel comfortable posting poetry because my poetry is so terrible and I rarely really write it but I wanted to say that I really enjoy what is being posted on this thread thus far and I hope that you all continue to post a little more. Ian, it definitely sounds that you were feeling some dark emotions at that point! Do you use poetry as a coping mechanism or do you just write what you feel when you feel it? I know that sometimes people use art to help them deal with hard emotions. Keep them coming!
