So here's a detail that might be helpful: I have irritable bowel syndrome.
I'm 16 and a few days ago, I had one of the worst stomach aches of my life. After having diarhhea, I noticed some small splotches of red. The largest one couldn't have been more than a centimeter wide. They seemed to be embedded in the stool. I was in school so there little I could do. I decided to wait a few more times to decide. The next time I went, it was less severe and the spots were fewer. The next day, the stool seemed to just be loose as opposed to diarhhea. All looked fine until i really scrutinized and noticed a single almost undectectable spot. Today, the stool was still somewhat loose and I saw nothing out of the ordinary (I might have seen a tiny bit when flushing, but that could be my imagination). Today, my stomach has been iffy, but nothing I haven't experienced due to my IBS.
Thing is, a similar situation occurred to me earlier. I saw dark tarry matter. I immediately contacted a doctor and after some check up, it was determined that it was not blood. However, I was given two Hemoccult samplers, things that I could use to apply stool and submit to testing. When my current situation occured, I immediately got those ready.
To be frank, I had to do a few of those tests (during my IBS diagnosis), and it was not pleasant. Nor was it anything I want to do again. I was all ready to conduct it, but as I mentioned before, the appearance of red material dissappated to nothing.
Now here's my question. I will take the sample without hesitation if it's recommended. Do you recommend that I report this to a doctor and take the sample? Does it sound dire enough?
