I HAVE BEEN ON THE DEPO SHOT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF AND HAD ALL THE SYSMPTOMS EVERYONE MENTIONED I HAD TO GET OFF THE SHOT BECAUSE IT WAS MESSING MY BODY UP WITH THE ACNE AND WIGHT GAIN ALSO THE MOOD SWINGS I WAS EASYILY IRRATED FAST BUT I HAVE BEEN OFF THE SHOT FOR FOUR MONTHS NOW AND BEEN BLEEDING VIGROUSLY WITH A LOT OF BLOOD CLOTS I DO NOT THINK I WAS PREGNANT BECAUSE I WAS ON THE SHOT AND I DO NOT THINK I AM GOING THREW A MISSCARRIAGE BECAUSE I WAS NOT PREGNANT BUT KNOW I AM SECOND GUESSING MYSELF BECAUSE THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE BUT THE WHOLE TIME I WAS ON THE SHOT I NEVER HAD A PERIOD SO MAYBE IT CAN BE BECASUSE I DID NOT HAVE A PERIOD AND IT IS ALL COMING OUT NOW IF YOU THINK YOU ARE PREGNANT ARE GOING THREW A MISCARRIAGE GO TO THE DOCTOR BECAUSE I DID AND I HAD A MISCARRIAGE WHICH I DID NOT KNOW BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW I WAS PREGNANT AND I WAITED TO LONG TO GET CHECKED AND I HAD TO GO THREW ALL THESE MEDICAL PROCEDURES BECAUSE I STILL HAD SOME OF THE PLACENTA INSIDE OF ME SO IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ARE CONCERNS GO STRAUGHT TO YOUR DOCTORS

I had two miscarriages the ending of last year 08.. I was to scared to get pregnant again and go through alot of hopes. so during the month of April 09 i took the depo shot for the first time. I should have started my period a few days after, it didnt come till a week later.At first i was spotting it lead to a heavy flow then it lasted for two weeks straight and that was not normal for me, but it could be because of the shot. I had sex at the ending of the month thinking i was still safe. Now i have been getting pregnancy symptoms. Nausea off and on all day, headaches, lower back pains,weak, tired all day(i sleep more then usual), constantly eating(every 5-10 mins), bloating,cramps. I keep searching online for any help and im just worried. ?

Hi I have been on the depo shot for a while now and now when I got it for this month I started to feel defferent .I have been having cramps back aches and also head aches off and on . And at first when I was getting the shots each month I wasn't feeling nothing like this . And also me and boyfriend had unprotected sex and he you know what inside me. So I'm wondering could I be pregnant because when I got my shot for this month I we did it that same day and thats the day he you know what in me. give me an answer who ever got prenant on the depo shot.

This is my second time on the depo shot. the first time i was on the shot for 9 mos and it took me over a year to get pregnant once i stoped taking it. this time i have been on the shot about 4 months. i have just recently been getting very sick. i dont throw up but i feel like im going to. i also have tender breasts, cramping, and spotting the dark rust colered blood. in bed last night i was feeling ill and my boyfriend looks at me and says are you pregnant? its crazy that he would ask that but i guess he would know cus we have 4 kids together. i have been suspecting it but was unwilling to actually think it cus its just bad timing, besides im a rationalist and i just wanted to beleive it wasnt possible after all why elses would i get the shot. anyway im going to get my home test today so we will see. best of luck to all of you and i hope that you find the answers that you are looking for.

About 2.5 months ago i got on depo,the same night i got on it, i had sex with my boyfriend,we did not use anything and he did not stop, about 5 weaks later,i started felling tired, exhausted. So i took a pregnecy test it was positive i was so scared,my stomach got a little hard n i was afraid my parents would notice.well about a weak later i was at a theme park i got dizzy, started having headaches, throwing up, was so nautious i didnt know how i was going to get through the day, well the next day i went to another theme park, woke up that morning and was fine,as we were in the car i started geting dizzy, i knew it was starting again,i have spotted and bled for the last couple weeks, but on this day it turned brown and i honestly dont know how to explain what it looked like or what it was.Now ive read so many other stories and some seem similar so is this the depo shot or could it realy be a miscariiage? I meen the test said positive but could it have been wrong, will i ever even know?

i have been on depo for two years and have not a period. me and my husband never use any other kind of protection. on june 20 i started having really bad cramps and headaches it lasted for two days but no bleeding. on the 21 i took a equate preg test and it came back positive. during that week i took a few more over the counter test and got back negitve results and one more poistive. and im sick to my stomach and tired. feeling bloated. on july 2 i went and got a blood test. it came back negitive. so i fig i wasnt. but im still feeling sick and my breast are now hurting. its been a couple weeks since my blood test and i took another over the counter test and it came back negitive. i dont kno whats going on. am i pregnent???????

I too feel the symptoms but I get extremely uncomfortable on my stomach kind of like pain and I've been taking it for 10 months going on a year in two months and the doctor says the depo is working but It also lays on my subconscious mind where it affects me in my sleep for two days now which is disturbing me very badly please help me

I know exactly how you all are feeling. I was on the depo for my cramps. I had only been on it for about a month when my husband came home on R&R from Iraq. We did the usual, he went back, and i started feeling really sick about two weeks later. Constantly nausious, but always eating. I had the depo around April 27th, and was due July 27th. I started the brown/re/dark/icky spotting on the 6th of July. and just recently stopped - its the 28th of August. my stomach isnt pretty round, but I went from a size 4 pants when my husband left back, to now i have to take some size 7's i just bought back to get a bigger size. The nausia is back, with ocasional vomitting. Insomnia like crazy. And some pretty intense headaches.
I think I am pregnant. I miscarried a lilt while back becasue I didnt have enought Progestren or Estrogen to cause the egg to fully attatch to the wall of my uterus. It/he broke loose about a month and a half in and I lost it/her. But those chemicals are what the depo is made of. Ontop of this, I now know of 2 ppl who have had the same situation as us, been on the depo, had these symptoms, taken theirselves off the depo...your doctor will tell you after you come off the depo it could take up to a yr to work the chemicals outof your system. These same cheicals will cause a pregnancey test to read negative. In July I took 2 home test and 1 in the doctors off, all 3 were negative. But then again....
So now im starting to get the small whant I call bump, its up high, just above my intestines, but its gurgling and cramping, and occasionally I feel a stabbing pain. I havent told my husband yet, he's get so excited, if its just a sudo/psychosymatic and a false alarm, or that I'm just fat...the dissapointment hurts too much to tell him until im 100% sure.

I've been on depo for 2 years, and now I'm have pregnancy like symptoms. I too, took 2 home pregnancy test (cheap ones). I've been eating like crazy, always tired, constantly throwing up, my stomach is getting big, headaches, backaches, my breast hurt and seem to look like their getting larger. So I think to find out for sure I'm going to get the blood test. Don't wana tell my boyfriend until I find out for sure.

im havin sorta the same problem, i've been on the shot for about six months, when i got on it my period totally went away. about a week ago i started having cramps like i was going to start, but i knew i wasnt bc i havent had my period in almost half a year now, im still having the cramps and still no period , i had a light brown discharge with a spot or two of red, but tht was only twice, i took a first response preg. test and it was neg., tht was about a week ago, also i keep having bile, like when u throw up a little in your mouth, and its kinda confusing, what should i do? i dnt have tender breast, i do have back pain but i work at a restrauant at night and tht could be the cause from all the walking around, i had one bad headache towards the back of my head and i havent felt extremely nausious but there are times when i could care less about eating anything bc i feel like it would make me nausious!!! can anyone help or give some advice on wat this might be if im not pregnant?

Okay so now I feel a little better knowing that Im not the only one experiencing these symptoms! I started depo in April 09 and had been on it for 6 months! Right after i got my second shot in July I went to visit my boyfriend and we had unprotected sex! I stopped taking the shot at the beginning of september and I still I have not started my period. At first I thought maybe this was okay because I didnt bleed while on the shot. Now I have started gaining weight, tired all the time, I have the nausea but Im not throwing up! Can anyone tell me how long did it take for you to start back having periods after you got off! I have lower back and stomach pains and I cant even sleep on my stomach! Im not sure if the shot just has me bloated and thats the reason for this. But if this is all from the shot how long do you continue to experience symptoms? I know I just need to take a test but im kinda scared!
