Hello! My six year-old showed me some small, red blisters under his scrotum. It was so itchy that he couldn’t stop scratching. I took him to a doctor and he told us that my boy has prickly heat. He told us that the rash will go away on its own in a couple of weeks. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to make it easier for my son? Thx

Well, just like the doc said there isn’t much you can do to make it go away but you can reveal the itching with some anti-itch lotion, such as calamine and topical steroid creams. But, it is said that it is best just to keep the skin clean by taking a couple of showers through out the day to keep affected areas clean and sweat free. There are mild antibacterial soaps that you can use to slow the spread and prevent future outbreaks.
