Dermatographism is when your skin gets raised, red lines due to scratching. These lines last for only a couple of minutes but are very uncomfortable and cause further scratching. These lines can occupy the whole chest or back and are not very pleasant to look at. This condition is not serious but further skin irritation, like harsh soaps or wool clothing, should be avoided.
