What do i need to do to a sore that has puss in it?

Loading...

How big is the sore? How much pus? How long has it been that way? Where is the sore?

In general:

Wash the area with hot soap and water, put an antibacterial cream or lotion on it, then cover with a band-aid. Change the band-aid and put on more antibacterial cream after bathing the child every day. (The band-aid is good since it makes it harder for the child to mess with the sore.)

If the sore is hot to the touch, or if red streaks are visible, take the child to the doctor. The child may need antibiotics. If the sore doesn't get better, take the child to the doctor.
