Greetings, I am new to this site and this is my first discussion. I was born in Canada in 1959 and I am intact. I have never had any trouble with my foreskin, but there is a feature on my glans I'd like to know more about. Some history is in order. Up until I was 14, my glans was smooth and that's when I started masturbating. I was about 2 weeks shy of turning 14 when overnight, a crevice appeared on my glans right where it meets the corona. Instead of a change of colour where the 2 meet, there is a crevice. There was no pain or bleeding. It was just there. It is most pronounced on the upper side of my glans and less so on the sides. Over the years, I have asked 3 family doctors and a dermatologist about it and they all said basically the same thing: "It's just how you're made." "It's a normal variant of the glans." "There's nothing wrong with your penis." "You're fine." Since it doesn't itch, bleed, sting or ooze disgusting fluids, I figure they are correct and I'm OK with it. My research has shown that this feature is not uncommon in both intact and circumcised men. In some ways, I think it makes the glans look more interesting. Now to my questions. Does this cracking occur because connective tissue between the glans and corona breaks in some men, in a manner similar to the breaking of adhesions between the glans and foreskin? Is there a name for this crevice? Surely there must be. Names have been given to every crease and groove on the body. If there is no name for it, perhaps one could be coined. Does masturbation have anything to do with it? After all, I had started masturbating about a month before it appeared. Grateful for any answers you can give.
