jenn fistula:
Please take my advice and have a C-section. You do not want to suffer the consequences of what could possibly happen to your fistula. Trust me. It is not worth the risk at all. C-section will be a safer option for you and you can have piece of mind.

Hi. I was wondering if you had any other complications while pregnant after your surgery. I had my daughter in August and am having my RVF surgery on April 7th. I want to try and get pregnant again this summer. People have told me that I might have a hard time getting pregnant now and that I will probably be on best rest. I'm not sure how true these comments are because I haven't read about them anywhere. Any help / advice would be great! Thanks (oh, and I'm totally for a c-section - I would tell everyone to get one after my labor!!!)

I know this is an older post, however, I'd love to hear from you Scottsdale Momma. I am currently dealing with a rectovaginal fistula and worry about the surgery because I'd like to start trying for my second baby asap. Please let me know if you went on to have a successful pregnancy after your surgery. Thank you for your help.
Hi amommy,
Not sure if you are still following this post or not. I've had a RVF for almost two years now. It is small and I don't notice it too often, mainly gas issues or when I have my period. I can say though that my colo rectal surgeon advised having another baby prior to surgical repair. I took her advice and will be trying for our second in a few months. I will be having a csection to prevent further damage. After the baby is born, then I will be having the surgery. I believe it was called an advanced flap repair. Good luck to you!
