ok, I think I know the cause of this, but I'll post it anyway. Last night as I was falling asleep I could feel some phlegm in my nose, but was too tired to go get a Kleenex, so I just left it. After a few minutes I ended up sniffing it way back, deep in the nasal passages, and a few minutes later some phlegm came out of my mouth. This time I did get out of bed and get a Kleenex. The color looked odd, but I couldn't tell because it was dark, so I turned the light on and was alarmed when it looked reddish until I realized it had probably come from my nose since the nose and the mouth are connected, and I have bloody phlegm in my nose often. Still, I was curious about this and was wondering if this theory sounded at all plausible. I am a bit of a hypochondriac, so, if you could do me a favor and take that into account and not be really...I guess, dark, would be the word, in your reply, that would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Bloody phlegm is often a sign of a deficiency of Vitamin C

Hmm, I am kind of low on Vitamin C. Perhaps that's a factor.

Thanks for the advice!
