well one of my friends uses nuvaring and sing praises about it. i do have an update, its not a very good one though. i wont have to be worrying about birth control any more. me and bf just split up so its kinda useless now. :'( but if i ever need to look into it at least i know my options. its amazing how much your life can change in 2 weeks.

Well you will need contraception, that's for sure, so try to find as much info as you need. There is Birth contraception forum here, so you can look there for informations.

I'm sorry to hear that you two have broken up but things work out for the best eventually. Just give it time. I'm sorry to hear. But in the meantime, it might be a good idea to investigate birth control options anyway, because there are a lot of advantages to it. Did you know it's good for your period too?

what do you mean good? i heard its good for regulating and cutting down the pms symptoms. but i've never really had any complaints about that until just recently. thats why i never looked into it before i became sexually active.

Well when I say good, I mean exactly what you're discussing. IT keeps you on a very regular schedule and it can also reduce bleeding. For example, a friend of mine was almost anemic before they found out that she suffered from very heavy periods. THey put her on birth control and it really helped her. Maybe you don't have problems like that but it does help. Does that make sense?

Hi everyone! I am new to this. I have been trolling the internet trying to find some info on my symptoms since stopping cilest on the 18th of June 2009. My period came as normal on the 21st June and my last pill was on the 18th June but 2 weeks after stopping the pill on the 6th July 2009 i started spotting and to this day still (19th July) im really worried as i have been ttc and my period was ment to start yesterday (18th july) but no sign as yet. I have done the first response PT but a BFN so anyone with some info to put me out my missery would be great.

Hi Anne,
You have stopped to take pill at all? If this is so then it is normal. You know that when you stop the pill or change to some other pill your organizam need time to adjust the hormone level in your body. And this irregular period is due to your stopping on the pill.
Do you have some more problems? I'm not sure how old are you or have you had any unprotected sex?!

Thanks Dark_Red, Im 32 yrs old and had unprotected sex everyday untill i started spotting :-D as im TTC. I have came off the pill before In Dec 08 and was back to normal straight away no spotting or anything! Then re-started the pill only for 3 weeks the beginning of June this yr missed 3 days and had strong anitbiotis as i had an accident and needed urgent surgery so i really have not been on it long! Today being the 20th July still no sign of period have not spotted today so far :-D :-D so dont know what to do really 8-| . Keep the info coming as i feel much better ready everyones suggestions and i sort of makes me think its not all bad.... xxx I'm only worried because i have already got a 14 yr 10 yr and 8 yr old and never experienced this with any of my pregnancies.

You said you had accident and that you where on antibiotics. They mess with your birth control. And it is highly recommended that if a person is on birth control and starts to take antibiotics, that that person need additional protection while having sexual intercourse.
So what do you think about this? Keep us posted of your condition and if you have additional questions as well.

Well i think i might be taking a period %-) I mean it's not like a normal one and its not been full blowen one yet. It started yesterday morning but inly alittle :-( . Will keep you posted. I spoke to the nurse yesterday and she said wait another 2 wks and take another HPT so more waiting and patcience wearing thin! :-D

if you are pregnant your hCG level will be high enough between one and two weeks. SO you would need to wait to take a HPT, thats for sure. Maybe you can monitor your symptoms, maybe some are gone, new came, etc.
Did you tell your nurse about antibiotics? If you did, what did she say about that?

I knew i forgot to tell her everything XD I was listening to her that much and forgot to tell her! But i think your right you know about the antis canceling the pill i have read that and also been told that. So what im going to do now is wait untill the end of next wk and take a HPT. But now on the news it's telling couples who are TTC not to 8-| Because of this Swine Flu! >:( So dont know what to do if im not, i really want to try ASAP if this is symptoms of coming off the pill.x
