This condition is an immune system disorder. Non-necrotizing granulomas are something that this condition is characterized by. These granulomas mostly appear in the lungs. Prednisone can be successful in some cases but some patients don't even respond on this treatment. In some cases some corticosteroids might even worsen the disease because of their side effects.
