I have had what is "said to be" seborrhea by my nose on one side. It started on both but has dissapeared on the other. I have tried over 25 medications (creams, lotions, compounds, herbs, etc.) NOTHING works.
At this point I do not know how to handle the situation. I have been to three different doctors, through all these meds, and the itching persists along with some redness... please, please help. It's so annoying and really makes life hard.

Seborrhea is very hard to treat; I know it myself because I have it on my scalp though. I do develop the redness and flakiness on my face as well sometimes, especially if I consume alcohol for example!
Corticosteroids may work occasionally but can’t cure it, I don’t think there is cure at all. That is seborrhea’s sad story. If you are lucky enough, you may be able to control it, other wise, you are doomed!
I know that stress aggravates the condition, so I try not to stress much if that’s possible at all. I once got a very good cream to reveal the flakiness on my face and it was great until I stopped applying it. Whenever I find a good shampoo, it works for just few weeks and it messes me up! I hate that! Once I read that “multi-treatment” (using more products) would help sooner that a single product alone. I always try to mix the shampoos but it’s not working all the time.
The most common triggers are cold weather, stress (like I already mentioned) and suppressed immunity.
For the people who get it on their faces, it is advised to wash it daily with soap and water. Rest and regular exercise should also do you good. Make sure you exercise outside and in the sun, because sun seems to stop the growth of the yeast organism that contribute to seborrhea!
I am sorry I didn’t encourage you much, but at least you know you are not alone if that’s comforting in any way! Not much-I know!
