This is my 11th day post-op
I had my splints removed a few days ago and the doctor said everything was fine

Like most people, I got really congested after my splint removal and had to keep blowing my nose because I had so much mucous. The area around the outside of my nostrils is really really irritated and it hurts to even touch, let alone wipe with a kleenex. I bought some mucinex and it's really helped get rid of the mucuous, although I still feel congested.

Since my splints were gone and I temporarily got rid of the mucuous, I didn't think I'd have to keep using the 'nose diaper' that I did during the first week, but I use it when I'm home because wiping my nose is so darn painful. I have clear watery drainage from my nose allll day (and night). It's not mucous-y, it just looks like water and it comes out of both my nostrils. When I'm in class I have to wipe my nose all day, which is not helping the outside of my nostrils heal because even if I put vaseline on it, 10 seconds later I'll have to wipe my nose. When I'm home it's easier to just have gauze to soak up the drainage the whole time but now I have a rash on my upper lip, and I assume it's from having something taped there for so long.

Anyway, I've been looking everywhere but can't find anything about clear watery drainage. I assumed the mucuous drainage was normal but I don't know if I should go back to the ENT about this. Sometimes the drainage is yellow but I *think* it's from the neosporin that I apply to the outside of my nostrils.

Does anyone have any tips on how to solve this little dilemma or has anyone gotten a rash from the nose diaper and know how to get rid of it?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
