Hello, I am 29, female, 5'5 1/2, 179 lbs and I have had this same issue for probably 6-7 years now.  I never seeked medical attention because I didn't think much of it...just stopped laying on my stomach with a raised head and forgot about it.  Yesterday, out of the blue, I just decided to lay in my bed on my elbows and INSTANTLY the front of my head was throbbing.  Sometimes when I sit down and get up to fast, I feel very dizzy and my vision is blurred as well.  I decided to look the information up to see what I can find, and came across this site.  Based on what I read, this condition must be serious right?  So, I should seek medical attention?  Thanks.

Could be some long-term side effect from an EPIDURAL? I'm also a mommy of two and I never felt this until I had my babies. I also started getting palpitations and I feel like I'm gonna pass-out when I get up from sitting or bed. I'm simply tired of going to different clueless doctors. I've been to a cardiologist a neuro an eye doctor an allergist damn I'm sick of feeling like c**p. I'm only 25 and I feel like I'm dying and I need to find out what's wrong with my body. I do not have anxiety. I did in the beginning when I started to feel palpitation s but now I've controlled it naturally with meditations and self control but my body is just telling me somethings not right. I'm just a little overweight. But not super fat and definitely not obese.

So glad I found this thread. I am a 37 yo mother of 3, started having same symptoms of dizziness when lying on stomach since my 3rd child was born. I suspect it's due to the epidural I had during delivery ... If its indeed due to increased inter cranial pressure, this sounds serious. I would go for a checkup right away but having a short holiday with family next week... So will probably look into it after the trip. I hope I don't faint during the trip.

I'm from Singapore .. Anyone on this thread able to give suggestions for specialists to see in Singapore?

34 Female.  This has been going on since I can remember. 10 + years.  Before the kids, before the wisdom teeth, before lasik, before depression, before IUD.

I was on a search to go find myself in Hawaii & learn to surf this week.  Well I just remembered I can not be in that paddle position for long. On the stomach head up, I get a severe headache like I have some sort of brain tumor and my head is going to explode, vision is off and wow now that I have read  this thread it does feel like I suppose lack of oxygen to the brain would feel...  I have always just immediately turned over and said to myself I can't sit like that, on my stomach either on my elbows or propped up at all.  Not to surf, read, computer, play with the kids on the floor etc.  It's actually been a  huge issue that I have always ignored, or never mentioned to the Dr. I have had numerous test for other conditions, tingling on side of face & finger tips, abdominal intestine IBS problems.  Just about every time I stand up I grab ahold of something, usually my head:(  I am in good shape yet

I am constantly weak, fatigue.  I have also 'episodes' I call them, where I have severe pain in my abdominal area, followed by explosive diarrhea, sweats, blackouts from the pain, and even before my blackouts my hands and toes constrict, I wake up soaked from sweat, even on walmarts very slippery floor:( These have been tamed not by my Dr. Advise on Zantag prescriptions, colonoscophies, but after several specialist, I started taking pro-biotics every day on my own because they found nothing and this seems to help a great deal...with my episodes".  Not my severe headache pulsating brain issue I'm on this thread about. Ok back to this thread...

My blood pressure has always been great.  Except I'm sure when I have an episode or lay on my stomach, but the DR. could never catch that on routine.

When I skydived It was also very painful, and I almost had a black out.  It was tandem and I believe I held on the whole way down, but not sure, the pressure was awful when the shoot was pulled, the free fall was awesome:) Had a headache & felt nauseous all day, pain would not go away.

I guess it's time to go back to the Dr:( Thank you all for your post, I do believe this may help.  I really want to learn to surf... shoot I really want to just play Lego's with my kids.

I also have extreme night sweats just about every night for the last 5 years, usually wake & dry over 5x a night.... This too I have just learned to live with.

My Meds are Adderall & Cymbalta for about 3 years.  If I miss my cymbalta my nerves (tingling occurs) this tingling is what got me to get an MRI a few years ago.  Results were good they said. Now the tingling still happens even when I don't miss my Cymbalta.

My thyroids have been tested, they say those too are fine.

I have experienced just about all types of recreational drugs I have always in the back of my head thought all this might be from that....  but if there is a fix PLEASE advise. lol no pun intended

hey everyone, im wondering if anyone has been to the doctor for a diagnosis, and what treatment was prescribed? im 22 years old and i suffer from a nearly constant tension headache, brought on suddenly by any type of exertion or abnormal position like this lying on the floor or bed with the elbows. i dont have insurance either and am just wondering what some doctors have said to help this.

did anyone get an mri or catscan? ive been wondering if ill need that, but what help with they give me. the only relief ive gotten from my headaches are frequent massages. i would highly recommend it! now that i am not working as a massage therapist im not able to get them so frequently so the headaches are back. i hope everyone feels better and seeks treatment!

Mary's post about Pseudo Tumor Cerebri seems correct. I was diagnosed with it several months ago and have been experiencing the exact symptoms Mary explains since I was a child. I also received a whiplash injury when I was 3 from a car accident and have had bone spurs on my cervical vertebrae ever since which probably doesn't help matters.

i've had two children WITHOUT epidural...so i don't think that would cause this.  my BP has always been grest. i'm 34 female.  this dizzy feeling has just started happening to me in the last few weeks - that i can remember. and my youngest is 16mths. so i don't know if it's directly related to children or anything like that.

i had been going to a chiropractor for the first time in my life and he said that my atlas (very top of spine) is way off and so he's been working on adjusting that. so i thought maybe it was due to the adjustments - and honestly i stopped going about a week ago.

Could you please explain further which symptoms apply to which issues? In particular the "hearing your heartbeat in your ears"? Thank you.

I'm a 15 year old female and I have the same problem, but I have never hurt myself in any way, or have had low blood pressure.

I'm not doctor or anything but I have a feeling that it is something to do with the carotid artery(neck) or spinal cord because you look up your spinal cord scrunches up at the top. These are my only way of answering this because the brain obviously need oxygen which is carried around the Blood in arteries. So, if lookin up wholes on your stomach blocks or does something similar to the artery then the Brain has no supply of blood and oxygen therefore feeling of headaches and dizziness will occur. I hope someone with professional experience can add to My theory and prove it right, or wrong. But either way that's what I think it might be.
