I have the same exact same problem. I'm a 15yo female and this has been going on for at least 5 years or so. it also can happen sometimes when I'm hanging upside down for more than about 5 seconds. I do have a small misalignment in my spine but it's always been that way so I don't think that could have caused it. I'm seeing about getting to a doctor soon to check it out. I someone can figure out what this is.

It wouldn't say dangerous, depends on what is causing all of this for you. If it were me, knowing what I know now, after suffering for years, I am now 43yo, push your Dr. If you are having visual issues get in with a good Opthamologist, not an Optometrist! Get a blood pressure cuff at CVS or Walgreens, take your BP both sitting, laying, stand up wait 10 to 15 seconds then take it again, keep a health diary. Good notes are key when you get to the neurologist (if it is what's needed), things like how many headache days a month, did your headache start before it rained, overcast. Those are known as barometric pressure related migraines, most people with neuro issues suffer with these when barometric pressure drops. For me below 30. Also, I have read all of the comments here, it is an absolute falsehood medically that only overweight, middle aged women suffer with PTC. Any person with connective tissue disease, such as Ehlers-Danlos, or Arnold Chiari, or Hydrocephalus can suffer with PTC, and POTS. Lucky for me I was one of the few patients that didn't fit their profile for the disease, I did indeed have Papiledema with opening low pressure of 7 on every lumbar puncture!!! Mine was/is all caused my vascular/arterial underdevelopment from Ehlers-Danlos. If not treated can snowball out of control. I am at risk for stroke, and now suffer seizures because of the damage done to my brain from all the years I was seeing the wrong Doctors!

Hey all, just adding to the thread here. I'm 40 y.o. female. One child at 37, body has not quite been the same. i started getting migraines at menstrual cycle a couple years now, particularly when I haven't taken vitamins, and if I've slacked off on taking care of myself- not doing yoga, not going to chiropractor, not sleeping enough. I've never had a head or neck injury, my blood pressure has always been excellent, except after losing half blood volume when giving birth. But it's been normal since then. Only chronic issues would be allergies- taking flonase more regularly now, dehydration seems to be an issue, and definitely chronic neck tension and lower back issues- mostly when I was younger and before seeing a chrirpractor and taking yoga classes... all of my neck/back/joint issues go away completely with consistent yoga 1-3 times per week and regular chiropractor visits - at least once every few months, or more if I have any acute pain (I don't need to go to chiro at all if I'm going to yoga 3-4 times/week). These weird symptoms from lying on tummy and propped up on elbows has only been happening for 5-10 months, a few times in total-- I avoid laying on my stomach b/c it's not good for your back in general. the first time was the most intense- ocean sound in the ears, extreme pain from top of head radiating down, and then extreme nausea when I didn't get out of that position quickly enough. Now, if it happens, it's minus the nausea, I lay my head down and it all subsides pretty quickly. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that we've all got some repetietive/lifestyle issues that are causing chronic neck tension and this is probably exacerbated by whatever other issues we may have going on. I just googled this, and another thread came up from years ago-- potential neck issues or anxiety/mental health issues seemed to be a common correlation. I'd go to the doctor if it's bad (and some cases sound pretty severe- like passing out, this is definitely not normal). If your doctor is not responsive, I would do a couple things: 1) find a new doctor, and 2) consider some wholistic approaches, including seeing a chiropractor (get a recommendation... all chiros are not equal-- I've been to 6 until I found someone I really liked.) Acupuncture/chinese medicine is also a good idea. For something that most doctors are expressing they have no idea about, and/or give you drugs with no real explanation for why this is occurring-- I'd be very wary. Drugs have side effects. They are likely to exacerbate or create other problems sooner or later. I would only use them for acute pain or seriously dangerous situations... but chronic use is not a great idea-- especially for those of you who are having this issue as teens. I would highly recommend an alternative to your regular doctor. Med school typically trains in prescribing drugs for symptoms instead of looking at the entire system. Just my opinion, but I don't think it's that hard for people to believe anymore... not with all of the "chronic" and inexplicable issues out there, as well as the amount of research going into debunking regular medical practices. Plus a lot of MDs are actually starting to study "alternative" medicines that show success where western medicine has not. As with anything unknown to you, proceed with caution, do your research, and communicate with your physician(s).

I have the exact same happen to me. Did you get diagnosed by a doctor? What tests can one get? Wow!!

I would start with opthamologist not an Optometrist. Get a dilated exam, make sure they check your eye pressures. If you don't have Papiledema, find a good neurologist that specializes in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and Postural Orthostatic issues, they can order lumbar puncture, and tilt table testing. In my experience the tilt table doesn't show the whole picture because I wasn't symptomatic everyday. The neurologist should also order MRA and CTA should the Mra reveal anything.Change your diet immediately, don't eat or drink foods with preservatives, especially soda, artificially sweetened drinks. Read food labels, even powdered coffee creamer, and seasonings put my body in a nose dive. If you smoke, QUIT now because the fire safe compliance paper Obama ordered for all tobacco products during his term is messing people up bad and causing severe damage to the body. If I can help with anything just let me know.

I am a 24 year old woman I've had two kids. I stay active an I'm pretty healthy but I've been getting these same symptoms as everyone else. It all started after I had an epidural procedure. So I am wondering have any other woman had this problem after an epidural?
