I had both, the PTC is under control and my optic nerves and discs have now healed. I still suffer with POTS and some other issues.

Hi I get this too. In me it is caused by hypermobility. Specifically what some people call dysautonomia. It's changes in pulse and blood pressure. My physiotherapist says it's because of nerve compression. Best advice would be to see A pots or dysautonomia specialist. Do you also get it when standing too long for example? It can feel like anxiety but it isn't.

This seems to be more like an anxiety attack. I get them like this. It's like you are afraid that you are sick so you make your body thinks something is wrong. I am very healthy but I was born with heart defects and have had 3 open heart surgeries. But I also have anxiety......so this is what happens to me. I start to have an anxiety attack but I don't know what's happening so I think I'm "dying".
I went to a bunch if docters, even my cardiologist and they all just thought I was nuts and didn't help at all. Then finally we figured it. And it's just anxiety . Their are many breathing techniques that you can find online line but for me it just helps when I realize what it is and start to tell myself that I'm fine. And after a few mins I am all good.

Check for CSF leaks or problems with CSF flow ,low spinal fluid pressure of elevated pressure due to either too low volume or too high can cause this. A CINE flow MRI and spinal tap can confirm it

I am 36yr old female, I have noticed for the past year or 2 that when i lay on my stomach and lift my head i get extreme pressure in my head and behind my eyes, along with that a strange noise in my ears and i feel like im going to pass out. if i change positions the feeling goes away after about a minute or so. the only health issues i have are low iron. However when I had my 2ND son, I did have severe complications after birth (Post Eclampsia) I was thinking it may have something to do with where they messed up during giving my epidural.... Other than I have no health issues that I know of. This never used to bother me but it seems to be getting worse, the pain in my head and the build up of pressure is more extreme then it used to be. It's surprising that so many others on here have experienced similar things.

I'm having this "head pressure" thing too. I'm a 43yr old male with relatively high blood pressure (150/100). Wanted to mention it since I see theories about it being only women with low blood pressure. I could be an exception to the rule though.
Hopefully someone finds a solution for this. I have a one year old boy and want to lay on my stomach and play with him. : (

Oh my God Mary, I am in tears right now. I have been trying to describe this to my doctors for four years now. And just in the last few weeks it has gotten worse and happens when I stand up or change certain positions and not just when I lay on my stomach. What is this? What do I need to tell my doctors?

Thank you so much! This helped me a lot. I was sitting here reading everybody else’s stories realizing that I’m not the only one who has this and then I saw your response to everybody and it made me understand it a little bit better.

I know this is a year old but hoping you have figured out what is happening or happen to check back here. Could it be high or low intracranial pressure? Csf leak? Also mitral valve prolapse made me wonder if there is a possibility of ehlers danlos? Csf leaks are a lot more common in EDS then compared to the general population. If you have headaches, hearing symptoms, dizziness, visual symptoms look into either of those.
