I also have this pain. It is located on the left side of belly button and extended to left under rib. The pain is lasting for days and feels like shooting needles with inflamation. When I put an ice pack on it feels better but only for a minute. I had xray and CAT scan which were all negative. I thought my doctor would be more proactive but just stated he found nothing. The pain is real and constant. I am going back to the doctor and printing out some of these messages so he can realize it is real and others have it. I am not constipated or have bowel problems just burning sensations and sharp pains. Can any doctor research this so we can be healed? Only receiving suggestions of do this, do that and no results.

I developed this about week or ten days ago. I was 3 weeks post op for a nissen fundoplication. A sudden sneeze came on and in an effort to prevent pain at the incision points, I ended up with this sharp, burning pain just to the right of my belly button. A couple days later I sneezed again, promptly screamed and burst into tears. The pain was really bad. Later that evening, I ended up in the ER on the advice of my surgeon. While I was in the ER, the pain increased to the point that I could not physically walk without being in agony. They palpitated it deeply and the pain was bad enough that I could not breathe for about 30 seconds. I had everything checked. No blockage, no hernia, no tears, no damage to the surgical points, no appendicitis, no gall bladder problem. Got sent home with crappy pain relievers and went to my surgeon the following day. He followed up with an ultrasound and a second MRI and also found nothing. I was told to rest and take pain relievers as needed. The following day, as I was walking, I took an abrupt turn and almost dropped from the pain. That was when I went home and googled "Sharp burning pain right of belly button hurts when walking." I took the info I found and forwarded it to my doctor and surgeon. They responded immediately and both agreed that I had probably found the cause of my mystery pain. Iliopsoas. They weren't looking for it because its under diagnosed and a sports injury normally. They were looking for something having to do with my surgery or something like appendicitis. Its pretty severe, and the pain is the worst I have ever felt. And I have been in labor, so I have a pretty good idea of what agony feels like. check with your health care providers and see if this could be your issue.

I have a sharp pain to the left of my bellybutton. When I arch my back, I feel the pain. Just a sharp little pain. I've had it for 2 days. Just annoying.....not too bad. I haven't experienced trouble with my bowels except I have been travelling and tend to not want to "go" in strange places.

I have the same pain, my gastroenterologist told me its either diverticulitis or a pulled muscle. When I run on the treadmill and Im having a flair up it helps to push on the spot really hard. It's almost like a nerve pain because of the fire sensation. I was eating berries and apparently things with seeds like strawberry's and sunflower seeds, etc. can cause flare ups.

If your female make sure and get your annual exams to make sure you have no tumors growing or a large fibroid. I had this same pain tying my shoes and knew I needed to get checked and they found a large fibroid and an ovarian tumor the size of a cantaloupe. Glad I went in.

My cousin has had stomach problems for years as you're describing. They have finally been able to get her some relief by changing her to a gluten free diet and she also does Plexus (Google to learn more). She has been diagnosed with dysautonomia. When she was first diagnosed she started receiving Atlas Orthoganol treatments that helped her tremendously! Now she rarely has to go for these treatments and only sticks to the gluten free diet and Plexus. Right now she is actually slowly (very slowly) adding gluten back into her diet. Dysautonomia can disrupt different systems in the body without and can easily be misdiagnosed as Crohn's Disease and other unexplainable abdominal disorders. Hope this helps!

I have microscopic colitis and experience this pain and am having it right now. I know it is probably my bowels but I would like to figure out how to fix it with out going back on steriods to fix it, they just seem to make me gain weight. I am sure I am having a fibromyalgia flare from going to the dentist (long story). This is just a side effect of the flare and it sure stinks. :(
