Dear Doctors

I have had a CTScan today as ultra sound could not find my pancreas. CT found it and I have been told is was 'very small' (shrunken).

I am being investigated for anaemia, passing blood in urine, and recuring sickness (2 to 3 times a week) and mainly bile.

Can you please advise me the possible reasons for the small pancreas.

If you want further information about tests that have been done to date, please ask.

Thankyou for time.

A common cause of a shrinking pancreas is chronic pancreatitis. Basically, something is destroying your pancreas. It could continue even after any infection is resolved. If you hear chronic, think long term.

The cause may be difficult to determine.

Have you been ill lately? Are these symptoms fairly recent? What's your general health?

keep us posted, good luck.

My husbands been denied three times a specialized endinoscropy for a shrinking pancreas . The insurance saying since it’s not cancer or ulcer the test doesn’t warrant such a procedure. In the meantime my husbands gone to the ER in excruciating pain over 7 x now . The gastrointestinal dr has appealed every time only to keep being turned down again.
