You hear about iron deficiency being bad for you all the time, and I think quite a few people take iron supplements. I wonder if the opposite is also true, and if there are any side effects of too much iron? If you know anything about it, I would love to hear more about the side effects of too much iron!

Too much iron in the bloodstream is called Haemochromatosis. This is a serious medical condition that can cause tissue damage, organ failure and dysfunction. Liver enlargement and liver cancer are also possible consequences of Haemochromatosis, and discolouration of the skin, heart failure and joint problems are other problems that may result from too much iron.
