Hi all,

Okay, I've been on Birth Control for five months, and I've had five months of waiting for my body to get used to it (and consequently, five months of worrying about being pregnant, because of the symptoms of hormone regulation). Now, I'm getting nervous that I am on the wrong brand, because I'm not getting used to it - I have constantly sore breasts, and my period happens each cycle before my reminder pills- so I wanted your advice...should I switch brands? And just as important- should I be using a backup method of BC??! My doc said that whenever there is irregular bleeding, a backup should be used. But I don't know if my bleeding is irregular or just part of the getting used to it process.

A secondary question- all the info about BC says it's effective if you start it on day one of your period. I did this, but now day one of my period happens at a different time- usually on pill 19 and lasts (very lightly) until pill 25 (a placebo pill). Pill 26-8 I'm not bleeding, and then I take pill 1, long after the first day of bleeding, whether withdrawal or period. Am I safe, now that my pill 1 isn't on the first day of my bleeding?

This stuff is confusing- please help!!
I also have been on the pill for about 4 months and my body isn't used to it or something b/c it is definitely not working. My boobs are always sore, my face is all broken out, and my period is all messed up. On top of that I begin a new period after every time I have sex, so then I've started taking two pills a day until the bleeding stops because otherwise I just continue bleeding all month. It is very annoying and I don't know what to do. Help?

I am in the same situation. I am having killer cramps which Ive never had before. My period starts during my last week of active pills so I dont wait an extra week to start new pills. I start the new ones as soon as I start my period but I will keep bleeding through the month. It sucks! What brand are yall using?
