I discovered tight clothing brings it on. I was wearing leggins and thong (stupid and tmi sorry but we are talking butts right lol) while on the drive to our new home. I was enroute 8.5 hours away and when both kiddos were asleep I didn't dare stop. I remember telling my hubby who was on the phone with me but in front of me in or other car that I was going to need this wedgie surgically extracted pretty soon. It started to get irritated, and here I am 2 wks later barely able to sit, lie, stand, walk anything!!! So far I've tried numerous things: H2O2, cleaning it in the shower with original Dial which felt relieving temporarily, sitz bath with epsom salts, tonight I ran and got some Bactine spray, and Tinactin dry powder spray. So far it feels amazing

Okay I've had this for years. So I e tried EVERYTHING. I take a bath every morning and every evening. I've come to the conclusion that the natural flora is getting messed up in that area some how or another. I feel the little tingle and itch coming on and I took a probiotic capsule and opened it put inside powder on the butt crack and within minutes the itch stopped and by the next morning it was almost gone. I think the sweating and friction in the area contribute to the problem as well. This is the only thing I have found that helps. If someone else tries this, let me know if it helps you too.

This is not a correct answer.. it is NOT a yeast infection.phhht.....

It's yeast related... I have had it for over a month and it just kept getting worse. It all started when I got a sinus infection this February (2015). I couldn't get it to go away for 4 months and went through 3 rounds of antibiotics. This killed all the good flora in my nether regions. I managed to fix that issue but then about a month ago I started getting the all too familiar burning right above my butt crack. I have had this all my life and it goes away in a day and I always assumed that I tore it or something because it felt like a papercut. A month later, it's red and pissed and burning and itching and super uncomfortable. I have tried everything. This includes keeping it dry, triple antibiotic ointment, ointment for sensitive skin, gold bond, Baby Anti-Monkey Butt powder...etc.. so, I finally though, "it might be a yeast issue since I have had several imbalances since February". So because when I tried Monistat down under it burned like hell I didn't end up using it. I figured since I still have a whole tube I would try it on my upper crack and pray that it won't burn. The great thing is that it didn't burn! Thank God. I put it on last night before bed with some sensitive skin antibiotic ointment to help heal the skin and I woke up this morning in much better shape. It is now 1 pm and I looked at the region that was red and inflamed and it isn't red anymore. It still itches a bit but the burning is gone. :D So, it conclusion... try Monistat...

Go get some powered Golden Seal from the health food store. One of its many uses besides its main purpose, "it kills poison", is its ability to start a scab and allow healing to occur. Mix with some salve to start with to put on split at night, then follow up a day or two later by sprinkling the powder on to allow a scab to form. I've seen it work on burns that Dr's thought only skin grafts would be the only solution.

I believe so too. I have this. It's not near the anus, it is on the top of the butt crack, it smells like sweat or fungus. Never had it before, I sit at work I think it's fronpm sitting while it's hot and sweat gets stale and turns fungus. It doesn't itch on me though, I just felt wetness there and then my finger stinks, I wipe the area and there is blood traces. (Very slight blood)

I am a 31 year old male and a pilonidal cyst survivor. What I can say is get to a doctor before it gets too bad. I was 21 when mine developed. My cyst got infected and got to be the size of a golf ball and I didn't go to the doctor because I thought I had bruised my tailbone or something, and my sister kept calling me a wuss. When I did finally convince my sister to drive me to the doctor because I couldn't even sit, they had to drain the cyst for over 30 minutes. Essentially they lanced it and then squeezed it like a huge zit. It was by far the most painful experience of my life and many doctors and nurses I have spoken with about it says it is one of the most painful things somebody can experience. I eventually had it surgically removed.
Tl;dr get your crack checked by a doc asap

HOME REMEDY: Antiperspirant/Deoderant in GEL form (has to be GEL! Has to have an ANTIPERSPIRANT in it- something like Aluminum Zirconium Octachlorohydrex GLY or equivalent.
This should clear up the irritation in 3-4 days, even if the abrasion has broken the skin. It dries the skin, has a modest antibacterial effect and will prevent further occurrences if used daily.
This also works for other areas prone to heat rash of various etiologies (umbilicus, under breasts, groin area though you should of course not use this directly on genitals)

Use it everyday and you may not see this again.
I would avoid any cream or ointment since the buttocks area is already a moist environment with numerous bacteria, etc.
Powders dont seem to be effective.
Oddly, diaper rash creams are not effective either.
Hope this helps!!
If it does, PASS IT ALONG. I'm amazed at how ineffective the listed remedies are!

I get it all the time, it's not a yeast infection, but I'm not a doctor but I've had a yeast infection and this is not it. But I just try and keep the area dry cause mine happen during hot humid days and make sure to clean with mild soap, I have sensitive skin. When it's all dry I put a dab of aquaphor in there cause it keeps moisture in the skin to relieve the cracking. It's weird but it helps me. I do suggest you do see a Dr if you think you have a yeast infection because some medicine over the counter or natural remedies can cause it to get worse or damage.

Use foot cream like for athletes feet it works great also use a none scented soap like oil of olay. The perfumes in soap don't rinse off your skin like a non scented do i use to have cracks between. My toes all the time I changed soaps and never had that problem in the rear and toes going. On 3 years also use tide or all non scented laundry soaps for you clothes and bath towels it works no more ass crack or break outs of red skin

I know this was a year ago and I hope I get a response. Is the clay going to rip my hair out or do I need to take care of that first?

I'm not certain, but I think the writer suggests letting the clay paste dry first. I would assume this wouldn't be an issue if you had cotton underwear on. The clay will dry to like a powder and then you can leave it on all day/night if you like then shower off. That is what I understood from the post. I used corn starch kind of in the same way sometimes.

Sorry to break it to you but you are incorrect. Women that have inverted nipples can yeast in their breast. It would be an overgrowth of candida in the body (the gut) and the gut affects the vaginal and analysis area. Educate yourself.
