It's a humorous science fiction movie based on a book, but the book is inifinitely superior. I chuckled once or twice, all at Alan Rickman's voice work of Marvin the Depressed Robot. Rickman is fantastic. The movie isn't.
I enjoyed it, though I do agree that the book is better. I think it's well worth the money.
