What can I do to reverse/eliminate the bloody stools, short of going to the hospital emergency room?

If you're having bloody stools, you really do need to at least call the gastroenterologist that did your colonoscopy. I'm guessing that he/she found one or more polyps and removed it/them. You may be bleeding from the site of the removed polyp(s). Even if this is the case, if you keep bleeding like this, that itself could be a problem - CALL PLEASE!
