I have stopped taking my lexapro after 10 years and I'm a mess. Is it safe to just start taking it again or should I ride it out.
Did you taper it off or you just stopped taking Lexapro completely? Ten years is a long time - if you had been eating a chocolate a day for ten years and than stopped you would feel the consequences. If you did this other thing - stopped completely, it would be best if you would go and see your doctor so you two could work out a system to take you off Lexapro slowly.
I went ahead and got the prescription refilled. I feel better already. I think I was trying to see if I could go without it. I won't be doing that again. For all the times I thought the medicine gave me bad side effects it is nothing like the withdraw from it. Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it.
But remember - if you must stop using it because of the side effects than that still remains your goal. Only do it by tapering off slowly. Good luck!
