Had Sea Perch (Orange Roughy) 2 days ago and have been getting these oily poos since! Good to see I most likely don't have some sort of serious condition. For those of you with continued occurrences over 1 week please see your GP.

I'm not even a vegan/vegitarian and this is happening to me.. Alot of sights say it could be from having too much oil in your diet (even vegitable oil) or intesinal issues

Thank you for the post. I ate orange roughy two days straight and I began getting floating stool steatorrhea (floating stools) and oily droplets in the toilet. I am familiar with this as I have Celiac and these symptoms are a sign of exposure and malabsorption syndrome due to a damaged lining of the small intestine. Luckily, I know I have gluten free and on a stick diet, so I think this just means there is excess fat because of the fish, not that I can't absorb it. I usually eat a low fat diet to begin with. This help me calm my concerns. Thanks.

I too have this problem the next day after I have the silver fish. However after this strange greasy stool I fell very light and better. I somehow feel that the fish oil helps to discard all bad cholesterol from my body. But this is just my assumption because I really feel great after the oily stool. Since the silver fish is seasonal fish I keep waiting for it every year and have almost every week for at least 2 months. I don't know if this sounds crazy to you.

Yes I had this also after eating black cod, "sable fish" cooked not smoked. It is also called butter fish but the real name is sable fish!
