I have a soft painless lump on my shaft of my penis on the left just under the head. When I get an erection and cum it starts to appear. When I get soft it is noticeable, but after awhile it goes away. It just happened one day and I started to freak out. Every time I masturbate it appears. Someone help!

It is devastating when the lump appears after sex.Very scary, but dont panic its not permanent and it will go away.It happenened to me and i abstained from sex for 2 weeks taking ibuprofen completely dissappeared for a year and 2 months.Re-appeared after after masturbation now im back on the 2week abstain aspirin therapy. So from now on lump or no lumpi should take a 2 week break everyyear give my penis a rest and hopefully it wont return ever again...yay

Its called lyphocele its a blocked lypth vessel in the penis. They are harmless and are not permanent.Trust me i had plenty of panic attacks when i had mine.Nothing to worry about just take 2 weeks abstinence and take ibuprofin twice a day.2 weeks it should clear and you are back to normal. To prevent them from ever returning i would take a break from too much sex maybe take 2 weeks a year and just abstain from masturbating. Also excercise is extremely helpful in keeping your lyphatic system in tip top shape go for a run around the park hit the gym. After a work out i like to lay in bed and put my legs up on the wall and reverse my blood flow this also helps. Remember the only harm in this situation is mental anxiety relax yourself they do not last you will be ok.....lol

This is weird. I just found the same thing when I pulled back my foreskin. It's like a small white line/bump.
I don't think it is serious though - as I have had this for over a year and it hasn't affected my sexual performance in any way. Just sometimes before masturbation it appears and is a little off putting.

Lymphocele
A lymphocele is a hard swelling that suddenly appears on the shaft of the penis after sex or masturbation. It occurs because the lymphatic channels (which make up part of the lymphatic system along with lymph nodes or glands) in your penis have been temporarily blocked. The swelling should soon subside and will not cause any permanent problems.

Ok guys I will give you a little medical run down on this. I have the exact same problem, seen after masturbating etc... However I have the luxury of being in medical school (don't get much social time). This IS a Lymphocele, however to help set your minds at ease here is the text from our pathology books I changed some of the words to more standard nomenclature so I did not have to explain the medical jargon or anatomical terms that some of you may not know.
Peyronie’s disease -- (Lymphocele in question)
Peyronie's disease is a condition in which a plaque, or hard lump, forms on the penis. The plaque may develop on the upper (more common) or lower side of the penis, in the layers that contain erectile tissue. The plaque often begins as a localized area of irritation and swelling (inflammation), and can develop into a hardened scar. The scarring reduces the elasticity of the penis in the area affected.
Peyronie's disease often occurs in a mild form that heals without treatment in six to 15 months. In these cases, the problem does not progress past the inflammation phase. In severe cases, the disease can last for years. The hardened plaque reduces flexibility, causing pain and forcing the penis to bend or arc during erection.
In addition to the bending of the penis, Peyronie’s disease can cause general pain as well as painful erections. It also can cause emotional distress, and affect a man’s desire and ability to function during sex.
The exact cause of Peyronie's disease is unknown. Cases that develop quickly, last a short time and go away without treatment most often are due to a trauma (hitting, bending or masturbation) that causes bleeding inside the penis. Some cases of Peyronie’s disease, however, develop slowly and are severe enough to require surgical treatment. Other possible causes of Peyronie’s disease include:
Vasculitis: — This is an inflammation of blood or lymphatic vessels. This inflammation can lead to the formation of scar tissue.
Connective tissue disorders: — According to the National Institutes of Health, about 30 percent of men with Peyronie’s disease also develop disorders that affect the connective tissue in other parts of their bodies. These disorders generally cause a thickening or hardening of the connective tissue. Connective tissue is specialized tissue—such as cartilage, bone and skin—that acts to support other body tissues.
Heredity: — Some studies suggest that a man who has a relative with Peyronie’s disease is at greater risk for developing the disease himself.
Because the plaque of Peyronie's disease often shrinks or disappears without treatment, most doctors suggest waiting one to two years or longer before attempting to correct it with surgery. In many cases, surgery produces positive results. But because complications can occur, and because many of the problems associated with Peyronie's disease (for example, shortening of the penis) are not corrected by surgery, most doctors prefer to perform surgery only on men with curvatures so severe that sexual intercourse is impossible.
I hope this has helped set some of your minds at ease even though I am a medical student and not a doctor yet. One more year baby!

This is wierd posting stuff like this online but im 27 and yeah i have masturbate every morning and sometimes at night and this same thing is happening to me...I've just noticed it last night, and have been on the phone with nurses. And now, I'm beginning to go on one of my downward spirals because I don't want to go to a doctor I'm so terrified that I could have penile concer and die from it.

It's pretty obvious by now that we are talking about two different conditions: Lumps on penis shaft, under skin, that are lymph-related and will go away, and lumps on the glans, the red tip of the penis, that affect the very consistency and structure of the skin and glans. I am 28 and suffer from the later condition, I masturbate regularly (4-7 times a week) and I slowly developed the condition in the last couple of years. Also, my girlfriend used to give me really dry and vigorous hand jobs, I am sure that that's the case for the broken vessels in the glans. At that time I was not aware of the condition so I did not give the penis a chance to rest and recover it's damaged structures, so now it seems I'm pretty stuck with it, after years of masturbation. If I skip sex or masturbation for couple of weeks it goes away, not being visible if I have a boner, but after I resume the sexual excitation, it eventually comes back. It seems pretty clear that my very active masturbation life caused it and I am relieved that it is not penile cancer. I will try to make a pause from masturbation (I don't have a sex partner so that is the only option, however, abstinence might work temporarily, it can also damage) and in the attempt not to freak out a potential sex partner. To all those affected by this embarrassing condition: take it easy and protect your manhood, use it only for serious activities.

Well, found this picture and it looks darn close to what I have and (hopefully) will go away, according to most posters, with Ibuprofen, and hands-off therapy. Good luck to all.

And what have been the results of the ibuprofen and hands-off approach? I seem to have the same condition, including the picture provided by the previous poster.
I'd appreciate a reply.
