Hi guys I'm new here but I have been reading some posts and you all seem very helpful. I have been on no more than 2 mgs of suboxone daily for about 6 to 8 months now. Recently I have been taking a little less than 2 mg. I am about to get off of it because I am worried about the long term effects. Has anyone had any experience with coming off such a small amount for that short of a time, and if so what can I expect? Also does anyone have any tips for helping with the withdrawals ?
And I've read a lot of the posts on this site so please don't tell me how horrible your withdrawals were if you were on a high dosage, please only suggestions how to help. I am just curious if anyone has had an experience similar to mine. Again, I did not taper down to 2 mgs, I just never got above a 2mg/day dosage.
Thanks in advance for any and all information and suggestions!

EDIT: Actually now that I think about it, it has only been about 4-6 months since I started. Thanks again guys!

Hi there, I jumped off at 4 mgs a day for 2 months. It was hell on earth BUT it's day 14 and I'm feeling better. My will to live is returning slowly but surely, and find myself craving the damn pain pills again but I keep on reminding myself that I do NOT want to go back to the despair of being an addict, and waiting on the freaking phone to ring with "good" news. For what I have read (and trust me I have read a lot), there is no way to avoid a least a moderate discomfort because these horrible things have a looong half-life. That is why it takes at least 5 to 6 days (depending on how much you were taking and how long) for the real bad withdrawals to kick in. The w/d last longer than any other drug's but they are still bearable ONLY if you WANT to get out of this prison. Wish you go luck and please contact me if you have more questions.
