This is my 1st time here. I'm currently on 24 mgs of Suboxone. I take 3 tabs 3 x a day. It keeps me from not wanting to use.
I am addicted to oxycodone and hydrocodone. My drugs of choice are Percs, Oxycontins, Dillaudids, Vicodins, Crack, Coke. I really can't say heroin because I only did that once. I'm in my early 30's and I used to always do things like go to the ER to get pain meds. It wasnt until last year that I got a steady script of oxys and vikes due to a car accident, then I went downhill with doing other drugs. I was getting my scriped of oxy imm real 120 /mo and vikes 7.5 /120/mo. I was on them steadily for a year and became physically addicted, as before I was only mentally addicted to them.
My scripts weren't holding me over so then I started with buying them off the streets (Oc's Percks, etc)
I read some forums and what people say about suboxone scares me! How do some of you only do 4 mgs a day? 16 mgs wasn't effective for me, as I'd get bad cravings around 6 pm so I went up to 24. I was even cutting the pills in half to make them last longer. Now, even though I'm at a higher dose that a lot of people it seems, it keeps me well stabalized, but I often wonder why I get the thoughts of using oxycodones again? I thought this drug was supposed to take your mind off of it, yes it has helped greatly with the physical aspect, but not the mental aspect.
I just have some questions/comments:
1. I read that some people's teeth are getting really bad from the subs. I read something on another forum and it basically said that people who take methadone or any opiates tend to ruin their teeth because the opiates slow down the saliva production and the remedy to that was drinking a lot of water. So I've been doing that.
2. In order to stay on Subs, I have to go to an outpatient program. For the first 5 weeks, I have to go Mon - Fri 3 hours a day. I also have to go to N/A meetings, do tox screens every week, and have to get off of my benzos. Do any of you also have to go to outpatient and NA? What about tox screens?
3. I used to get really bad constipation from Oxys, so I take Milk of Magnesia. I know this sounds gross but recently I have been getting blood in my poops, and they think it is a hemorioid. I hope they are curable. Has anyone ever experienced blood in their stools? I got scared and thought I had some aweful disease, but I really have to push to get it out. Do you all get constipated too? I think that's the worse side effect of opiates.
4. How long do you usually stay on the subs? I am going to be on them for about 6-12 mos, then taper off. I hope that my addiction will be cured by then.
I am wondering, If i were to take a percocet while on subs, would i feel a high? I do get a slight buzz from subs which i don't mind.

Hi there, if you took perocet while on suboxone you would likely feel a high--as to whether that's the point of the program or helping you to get better, it is probably not a good idea to take them. The point is to get off substances, right? Does that help at all Ty?
