I'm having these same issues and have taken pictures only to be told it could be some sort of rheumatic thing. It started in my right hand with a "spider bite looking 2 fang marks" small but with my camera zoomed in it was certainly 2 marks. Then my hand swelled and itched like crazy but tender at the same time. My hand swelling went down overnight only to have my right foot suffer the same problem. This too disappeared overnight. Then my left lower jaw then left hand then left foot then upper lip. I was told it could have been a spider but when I went to the ER thinking of my airway shutting off he wasn't interested in the "spider bite" theory just concentrated on rheumatic arthritis. I'm wanting something solid that I can look into, I'm quite frightened. Please help.

Hi, I have experienced the same thing, I have been to an allergist, and nothing shows up. Now they want me to go for blood tests, so I am hoping it is nothing serious.

MY DAUGHTER IS HAVING THESE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS!!!! just started this year-she is almost 13 and the allergist has put her on 4 different types of meds and prescribed us an epi pen, after about 2 wks of taking the medication one way-she would start having symptoms again, so the doctor would change up how much she took and after about 2 wks of that she would start flaring up again, its like her body only responds to the medication the first week or so and then its back to the same thing, I cant even send her to school when she is like that-her eyes swell up-she has a rash and welt marks, and her palms of her hand down to her rist swell and she says it hurts but she cant explain it and they go numb to a pinch or a sharp prick she cant feel it but she can feel hot and cold, all these things happen off and on, they have even happened at her friends and families house w no warning signs. I am actually scared and this is why I am on here today because we going to the doctor again this morning for this and i decided to start doing more research and this is the first site i seen where someone else is having this issue!! If u have found anything out at all about what is going please respond back to me so I can ask my doctor as well about it. she has taken the allergy test and had blood work done, this is getting out of control, and we aslo have not changed anythiong in foods, or soaps or sprays or anything

It started in my lower side of my mouth, then it has worsened to different parts of my body not all at the same time but sometimes a few places at a time, my heels get itchy, the ball of the palms of my hands, my penis has even swollen on one side, creases of where top of legs and buttocks meet...I thought at first i was being bit by spiders or something, but aren't. It lasts 4hrs to a couple pf days, I take benadryl, but it doesn't seem to help.
It's just sort of embarassing when my lip swells, I can't tell people what it is!!
Anyway no-one has been able to explain these things and I just live with it.

Hi, I had the exact same issues. I noticed a pattern and thought it might be food. In fact, I couldn't eat potatoes or peanuts as I pinned the swelling on it. It seemed every time I ate potatoes or peanuts, I had an issue. I started to avoid them and the swelling still came about. I had swelling in my hands (thumbs and fingertips), feet (like walking on ketchup packets), welts in the upper back thigh area, toes, lips, tong, but wost of all about 11 times, my esophagus and that was very scary. If I could swallow it was very painful as you could feel every ripple of the esophagus muscle and it lasted 6-10 hrs. Finally I decided to get an allergy test and food allergy test... Guess what? I"m allergic to a ton of stuff, pork, beef, mold, cheese, milk, eggs, chocolate, wheat, gluten, and even some mellons. This isn't the complete list but you get the point...
Anyway, I stopped eating all of the foods and changed my diet. Guess what? The swelling went away completely (except when I cheated on my diet by eating bits and pieces of bread, cheeze, etc.) Basically I can eat chicken, turkey, fish, and salad oh and guess what... Potatoes!. Turns out I was wrong to guess about my problems myself. I'm 42 years old and none of the happened until I went through a very stressful time at my work and home. I think the stress triggered my food allergies so people take it easy.... Life is very short to begin with and no one thing is really that important...
If your issues are triggered by stress, learn some stress management or have a glass of wine or something? Don't let your body and mind be your enemy stop and smell the roses before you push up the daisy's.
Back on the food issue, I will say that I've kinda figured this problem out some now. When they gave me the allergy test, they grade each food on a point level to show how allergic you are. It seems like the 2-3 point foods (like eggs, milk, cheese) I really don't have to worry about. However, the 9 pointers like beef and pork, BIG PROBLEM. Wheat and gluten was in the middle for me and I've noticed if I eat 2 slices of pizza, I'm going to have some issues. However, If I have one, I'm fine. (Of course it depends on the pizza place). Anyway, seems like mixing and matching is a problem as well.. For example, I remember a few times the esophagus issue came after eating a hamburger. We'll I was allergic to the bread, beef, and cheese. My body can seem to handle cheese no problem, bread somewhat, beef not as well. But eating a hamburger is like the kiss of death and that is when I have big problems. So if you find out you have allergies like me, do some small trial and error but don't combine a bunch of stuff. As another example, I can have a piece or two of chocolate, But chocolate cake (with wheat gluten).... NOT WITHOUT PAYING A PRICE...
Finally, I have a feeling most of the people who have these issues have allergies to foods or some environmental thing (like mold in your home).. Heck you might even be allergic to stress...Get as much testing done as you can for allergies (maybe even by more than one doctor) and be determined to find the cause and change it. It took me 1.5 years but I did it and now I know. By the way I have some good news, My new diet helped me lose 15lbs and about 50pts off cholesterol. (I think it was the pork and red meat).
I wanted to write back to this forum on this because I first found all of these posts when my problems started and If anyone (and many well as food allergies are on the rise) needs a guide, I'm doing my part. If everyone did we would all kick these issues better.
Thanks,
Jason B.
