Adult circumcision is bad business. There are many possible complications. I hope you don't regret your decision. It cannot be reversed.

Adult circumcision is an irreversible, elective surgical operation to injure the penis and reduce its size and sensation by cutting off the nerve-laden sexually sensitive foreskin. Adult circumcision is usually performed with a general anesthetic however local anesthetic may be used. Like all surgical operations, it has risks of hemorrhage, infection, and surgical mishap. Loss of the penis has been known to occur. Death has been known to occur.
The cost is about $2,500. Circumcision may be carried out under local or general anaesthesia.
The foreskin is a complex double-layered structure composed of smooth muscle fiber, skin, mucosa, nerves, arteries, and veins. It is natural, normal, healthy, and its possession contributes to a sense of well-being. The foreskin has protective, sensory, sexual, and immunological functions. It is loaded with nerves and is the site of most of the penile sensation. The foreskin is a “specific erogenous zone.” The foreskin is essential for normal intercourse. Foreskin provides the additional skin needed to allow for penile expansion during erection. Amputation of the foreskin, which is an integral and important part of the penis has very significant adverse sexual and emotional effects.
Nature put the foreskin there to provide at least fourteen functions:
1. to cover and bond with the synechia so as to permit the development of the mucosal surface of the glans and inner foreskin.
2. to protect the infant's glans from feces and ammonia in diapers.
3. To protect against disease causing pathogens.
4. to protect the glans penis from friction and abrasion throughout life.
5. to keep the glans moisturized and soft with emollient oils.
6. to lubricate the glans.
7. to coat the glans with a waxy protective substance.
8. to provide sufficient skin to cover an erection by unfolding.
9. to provide an aid to masturbation and foreplay.
10. to serve as an aid to penetration.
11. to reduce friction and chafing during intercourse.
12. to serve as erogenous tissue because of its rich supply of erogenous receptors.
13. to contact and stimulate the G-spot of the female partner.
14. to produce pheromones to excite the female sexual partner.
It is normal to keep the foreskin forward over the head for protection.
Circumcision is an injurious, damaging, destructive, and harmful surgical operation that cuts through nerves and blood vessels that feed blood to the penis. The operation is irreversible. You will have the rest of your life to mourn your loss of your erogenous foreskin.
The foreskin is filled with nerves that make it the most sensitive part of the human body, therefore, cutting into it is very painful.
It takes about six weeks to recover from an adult circumcision. One should avoid getting erections. Oral ketoconazole may help to prevent postoperative erections.
One will never fully regain the lost protection, sexual function, sensation, and sexual pleasure, even if one restores the foreskin.
If you should become interested in restoring your foreskin, a search on the Internet for “foreskin restoration” will produce lots of information.

The head was sensitive before you had a circumcision, but now it is exposed. One purpose of the foreskin that you had cut off is to protect the head and keep it sensitive.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Was circumcision the only choice your doctor could think of? Of course it's not THEIR penis so I don't think they care too much. If you were sure that's what you wanted I am not against it but I would not be interested in doing that myself. Don't let anyone tell you what a horrible thing it is, there are plenty of guys who are circ'd. Did you do any research about the different styles or just let the doctor do a generic job?
About the sensitivity: I'm sure it will go away in time and you will probably like having your glans exposed. Are you keeping it dry? When I was a teen mine was very sensitive. Often when I masturbated at bedtime my foreskin would be stuck behind the head until my erection went away and I would fall asleep with it like that. I would sometimes awake in the morning with my glans still uncovered and completely dry. When that happened I found it was only slightly sensitive and was a lot of fun to play with when it was like that. Alas, the foreskin would slip back over it and it would go back to being damp and very sensitive again. So I began drying it before I masturbated so I could rub the bare head and eventually it became not sensitive at all.
I guess what I'm trying to say is if you keep it dry it probably will not be as much of a "pain".
If you are feeling adventurous after the stitches are healed here's something I found by accident that was really erotic. I was in a rush to get it dry one day so to help clean it and dry it quickly I tried washing it with a cotton ball soaked it rubbing alcohol. That was terrific. At first it feels cold, then hot, then it just tingles and gave me one heck of an erection. The alcohol also cleans it very well so it doesn't stick to everything it touches.
It will be like having a brand new toy, so enjoy it and have fun. Keep us informed about how it goes for you. Your experience may help someone else in the future.

I got circumcised about 2 weeks ago at age 23.
I feel sympathy for all of you who have felt hyper-sensitivity in the glans. I was like that too for the first week! It's completely normal!
This excruciating pain will most likely disappear after the first two weeks, hang on!
Hot, warm showers help a lot, and wear loose boxers too!
I had extreme phimosis prior to the surgical procedure. However, the entire glans is now exposed and my urologist recommended me to do the full circumcision rather than a partial (leaving some foreskin).
My question for you guys is - when can I resume back to masturbation?
Also, How am I suppose to masturbate now that my foreskin is gone and no more internal friction will be possible (the entire foreskin is gone!)?
Am I going to have to adopt a new method for mastrubating? How would that work?
Sorry, but I've never really seen or dealt with a circumcised penis before, I really don't know how the mechanics of masturbation will now work...
If anyone can help I will humbly appreciate it.

Hi Perez2016:
Perhaps you should have asked this question before you consented to be circumcised. Yes, you will need a new method of masturbating now that so much erogenous tissue is gone and you don't have the gliding action of your foreskin.
It takes six weeks to recover from a circumcision but your penis without its protective, highly-innervated, erogenous foreskin will never be the same.
Foreskin retraction is not absolutely necessary. A male may masturbate, have sexual intercourse, and father children with a non-retractile foreskin. Some believe that sex is better with a non-retractile foreskin.
How one does it depends on whether one has an internally lubricated movable foreskin that glides up and down the shaft or whether you have been unforeskinned.
If you are foreskinned, then all you need to do is glide your foreskin back and forth. The foreskin is internally lubricated with lymphatic fluid and glides without friction. The numerous nerves inside the foreskin are stimulated by the motion and generate pleasurable sensations.
Long and vigorous masturbation can cause the foreskin to become edematous and swollen, which is painless and not a cause for alarm. The edema usually goes down within about 24 hours. Pulling back too hard is apt to stretch the frenulum and may tear it.
If you are unforeskinned and the skin is taut and immovable, then you will need some lubrication and you need to slide your hand up and down the shaft. You will likely injure yourself without lubricant. Friction burns are common when a male without foreskin masturbates without lubricant. Some lubricants are baby oil, vegetable oil, personal lubricant, soapy water, and saliva.
It is common for an unforeskinned male, who has been deprived of his in ternally lubricated foreskin, to have friction irritation if he does not apply external lubricant.
If you don't like what you have, then you can look into foreskin restoration and see if is right for you.

Dear Roland23,
Thank you for your detailed and highly accurate response.
Now I can fathom more or less how it would be like for me to masturbate in 6 weeks' worth of time.
As the other men in this forum have claimed, circumcision inevitably results in an amplified sensitivity in the glans.
It makes sense why the removal of suck protective, erogenous skin will result in amplified sensitivity for the first few weeks before it builds up the resistance and resilience to become sealed and natural.
At this phase of my life I do perhaps regret getting a full circumcision because it now seems it will require more work on my part to release myself given the absence of my previous foreskin.
I truly hope that once the 6 weeks of recuperation is over, I'm able to masturbate with the same degree of pleasure as before.
I have never had sex due to my medical condition, but I can at first glance plausibly fathom that perhaps sex with foreskin is more pleasurable given the internal lubricated friction generated by the foreskin and the glans.
Many scientific articles claim that the removal of foreskin from the penis immediately eradicates millions of nerves cells and receptors; thus reducing pleasurable sensations during sex.
However, it still seems strange to me why there currently exists two highly demarcated, diametrically opposed groups which claim that sex is better without foreskin or that sex is better with it.
It's hard to know which group is closest to the truth because the circumcised men have been circumcised all of their lives, yet many of them feel like sex is still nonetheless extremely pleasurable and engage in sex with the perhaps the same incidence as uncircumcised men.
Yet, the other group claims that sex with foreskin is more pleasurable, yet how would they know this if they have never been circumcised?
I guess only those rare fellows who have been circumcised and have had a foreskin restoration graft can adequately and sufficiently make a keen proposition as to what option they feel is more pleasurable.
I guess this notion of pleasure deriving from circumcision or uncircumcision is all just a matter of subjectivity and relative perception rather than some kind of universal truth.

My condition was extreme, it was just simply unbearably painful, the glans was never exposed (not even 2% of it was visible under extreme retraction). There was a hole just large enough for urination. The few times I attempt to engage in sexual intercourse were so painful I honestly thought I was going to tear my foreskin apart and bleed. My urologist claimed he had never seen a phimosis case as severe as mine.

What's the approximate cost of foreskin restoration and how long does the treatment last, approximately?

As I said in my previous post, I think you will enjoy being able to stroke your bare glans and you should be able to do that as soon as the pain from the stitches is gone. Just go easy and stop if it hurts.
It will feel quite nice stroking your bare head and it gets better as the sensitivity goes away. Of course your glans will eventually become much less sensitive but that is overcome by rubbing harder. I like rubbing my bare dry head even though I still have a foreskin. I don't like using any kind of lube it just doesn't have the feeling of dry rubbing.
Don't listen to the naysayers, a bare knob is a great plaything.

Hi njoynlife,
I had my first masturbation experience yesterday as a fully circumcised man.
The sensitivity on the glans was incredible.
I never felt this while I was uncircumcised.
I never had such an excruciatingly pleasurable orgasm as yesterday. It took longer to get there, but the experience was that much more exciting.
I'm still getting used to seeing my minimalist penis without any excess skin. It is still weird to me.
It seems like reaching an orgasm, however, takes a longer time (being circumcised); but I guess that adds to the pleasure effect as you contemplate the orgasm for a longer time.
As an uncircumcised man, reaching an orgasm could be done in 4-5 minutes.
Now, I can claim that it will definitely take longer than this, about 15 minutes probably?
The pleasurable sensations tingle for a longer time, making the experience that more exquisite.
I keep insisting that there's not a significant decrease in sensitivity. In fact, I think that being circumcised in fact generates new pleasure feelings now that you have direct frictional contact with the glans. You can modulate this friction with a higher precision.
I don't understand why there are so many people in the scientific community so adamantly against circumcision.
It's not as if uncircumcised men engage in sex with a greater incidence than circumcised men. Both type of men seem to enjoy sex the same and therefore you can't claim that being uncircumcised is necessarily a more superior option in terms of pleasure sensation. The never cells and the friction are still in the glans and for the most part there shouldn't be a significant difference between the two in terms of pleasure reception.
