Hi Robert, you prompted me to post an update. Today is 30 days since my op. I can honestly say the sensitivity is all but gone! I look back at all my posts now and wonder why I was ever worried. My wound is all but closed now and I can get erections without pain which is great. You know deep down it will heal but you get impatient and start searching the Internet and worrying, I am terrible for that. I've been wearing tight underwear for the last 2 weeks to hold everything in place but I'm back to my normal stuff now. It hasn't been easy guys but you know it's not going to be anyway. This time last month I was in agony posting on here thinking there was no hope. After reading all the great posts on here it really gave me optimism and helped me through so thanks to everyone. Robert just keep doing what you are doing with daily baths or showers. I only had one bath, the rest were showers. I'm not totally sure the water makes an awful lot of difference to be honest. For me the pain and sensitivity went away as soon as the swelling went down and that is something only time can heal. One thing I did discover in my research is that exposing the wound to air to heal is a big mistake. It's much better for a wound to heal in a moist environment as it heals from within as new tissue grows rather than a scab forming too quickly over a wound that is still not healed. The air thing is a myth! I will keep an eye on this thread and wish everyone good luck with their recovery!

Assuming you mean the sensitivity of the glans, I think that is an individual thing that can vary quite a bit. I would expect it to be quite well under control within a month. However the desensitizing process will probably last quite a while. I'm sure the glans rubbing on things will create quite a few erections for a few months at least and will gradually subside. Once you get to where you can rub it for masturbation I know the more you handle it the sooner it will get used to being exposed. I'm not circ'd but exposing it and rubbing it is how I desensitized mine. Enjoy your brand new penis.

Hi Ralph - Thank you 1st for your kind uplifting words, and 2nd for posting an update.

Its truly a humbling feeling being surrounded by men who not only have gone through what I'm going through, but also their generosity of time, advice & personal (very personal) stories! Thank you to you all!

I'm counting down 30 days! ha. I know each person is on their own schedule, but this at least gives me a baseline/target. I took another "bucket bath", and again, 1st few glass fulls felt weird, but soon enough I barely felt it.

Has anyone had a the feeling of "ghost foreskin"? Like you're half expecting it to be there, or want to go touch it for whatever reason, but a second later you snap back to reality and realize you're fully exposed! While bathing I constantly had that feeling like my foreskin was sorta rolling up - I had phimosis...not sure how severe it was since I never had seen anyone else's, but my foreskin never had rolled back, it was just open enough for me to see the tip of my head and where I could maneuver the foreskin such that the urine wouldnt hit it...anyway, while bathing it felt as if my forskin had sorta rolled up, but obviously there is no foreskin to account for.

NJoyLife - Thank you also for your support and willingness to share your experiences...however bit too sexual they may be lol.

Tomorrow will be 1 week since the surgery. I'm not sure how much of an improvement I've made since I cant still force myself to touch the head or even go near it. Hopefully in another week I can report back with bigger improvements. I have no doubt I did the right thing however. Before, beyond the unsightly look of my manhood, it smelled and was constantly getting infected (balanitis). My wife doesnt particularly like looking at the state of my penis at the moment, says its definitely easier on the eyes then before! haa. I cant wait till she gets a taste lol.

Hey! Do you or anyone know if its "normal" to have a bit of pain when peeing? Past few times it feel this burning sensation when peeing. Like if my pee hole (sorry, dont know word for it) was too small and the urine is being squeezed through it. I also had/(have?) Balanitis and it hurt a bit before, but it feels a worse now. Think its something I need to inform my doctor of immediately? I have an appointment with him in a week and half.

Thanks,
-Robert

Your pee hole will be swollen from the op so you will feel some discomfort, this happened to me too. Whilst the pain has gone for me I'm still having to pee sat down as the swelling is still there and I can't control the direction and it's like a sprinkler haha. Like I said, I think the swelling is key to the healing, once that subsides I think everything else goes with it.

Thanks Ralph!!! So a month out, and you still cant pee properly? That sucks! I'm sure it'll get better though! I know you dont need my encouragement but given your kindness, I felt I reciprocate, however needless it may be ha. I hope to continue hearing yours and other folks updates and inspiring stories. I too am here for those who plan to or have just gone through the procedure. I have the webpage bookmarked and am checking back regularly.

Take care gentlemen and Good Luck!

Well my peeing is definitely getting better. To begin with I had a slight burning sensation and it sprayed everywhere. Now I would say 9 times out of 10 it will go straight but there's still the odd occasion it doesn't so I still sit down to be safe. The best thing about the healing process is every day you'll see another element of improvement whether it be stitches falling out, swelling reducing, wounds healing, bleeding getting less etc etc. every time you have a breakthrough like that it will boost your confidence daily.

Hey Ralph and anyone else that may be able to help -

Is it normal for the head/glans be pretty pain free and fairly desensitized but the area around the stitches...right under the head where the foreskin ends still be very sensitive even painful when it touches anything. Besides that, it feels ok. But thats a BIG besides ha.

Thanks!

It would be interesting to know why it should burn or spray when you pee unless they did something to that area. Were you awake so you could see what they were doing? If they inserted something into your urethra that would account for the burning or possibly if they held/clamped your penis tightly while cutting the foreskin. Did you have a frenulum that attached close to the tip which they cut/removed? Have you asked the doctor about the burning and spraying? I just don't see why cutting the foreskin way down on the shaft behind the corona would have any effect on the shape of the opening at the tip unless they did something there too.

Thanks NJoy, the burning is gone. I'll just chalk it up to part of my recovery process ha. I believe so about the frenulum thing, but now 100% sure. What about it? The stitches area still pretty sensitive. It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow. Thanks! -Robert

Wear Y-front briefs (not boxers), that can hold you pretty steady and keep the penis pointing upwards. This reduces friction on the glans, so you can walk about in relative comfort.

I was circumcised 5 weeks ago and have a problem masturbating - when I had a foreskin I could squeeze the glans tightly when I came and the feeling was amazing. Now I can't grasp that area at all when cumming and while there's the basic orgasm sensation in the shaft, I miss the intense pleasure of grasping or twisting the head slightly as I ejaculate. I hope this isn't overly graphic. I miss that so much cos it made wanking amazing. And when wanking was off the menu, just after the operation itself, I suddenly realised how important it is as stress relief - can anyone on here reassure me that things will improve
