Swelling Redness Under Eye

I have the same problem. mine is really consistent and sometimes i m not wearing any make up n i wake up with red puffy eyes. It's not a really case of allergies, but it's sensitivety to products that you could be using. I went to a specialist and she told me to stop using everything except... cliniderm shampoo, dove soap unscented, and vaseline (petroleum jelly). Then after 1 to 2 weeks... u can add one product at a time, oncce you notice that u reccieved a reaction, then most likely it occurs because of the new product u added into ur regime. You have to figure out what products work for you and wat dont. I found this really surprising in the beginning because i ve been using the same products for suck a long time. But sometimes your skin becomes sensitive to it , especialli the skin around the eyes since it's a thin layer. Also, u can also book an appointment for a patch testing in the hospital... but u would have to be refered by a specialist. The only problem with taht is you have to leave the patches on for 4 days and can't get them wet. I hope this helps!

If it feels like grit in your eye and it swollen its prob pink eye, swelling, feels like something in your eye like sand or grit, and puss.

the same thing has been happening to me for a few months off and on.. i will get dryness around my eyes, then redness, puffiness and crazy itch i cant find anything to fix it i've tried lotion, vaseline, neosporin, ice, heat, allergy medicine, i've even changed make-up and lotion several timese but nothing seems to work... i need help.

I have redness and a bit of puffyness under my right eye it isn't sore at all but it looks like I have pink eye and I dont? PLease help!!!!!!!!!!!! ! :$ :-P >:( XD :'(

Hi, has anyone ever been given a diagnosis on this swelling, redness under eyes? My 11 yr. old daughter has similar for past 2 days. Thinking it was an allergic reaction to something. Gave her zyrtec, claritin, no real improvement. It is just under her eyes, left is slightly worse than right. No pain, no itchiness, no dryness ( at least not yet), just red and puffy. Looks like a possible shiner, but it's not. No conjuctivitis or rubbing. I will most likely call the pediatrician if no change. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch. Elena

I have the same problem. I find Visine A.C drops put on the skin has been my answer. Worth a try.

I absolutely have the very same thing! red, swelling, somewhat flaky, mostly in one eye...the doctor put me on Duricef for two weeks, cleared it up but it came back. The doctor believes it's cellulitis, a skin infection that can repeatedly come back. Don't know what I'm going to do. I also have glaucoma, so I can't use alot of steriod/cortisone creams. I may try the Visine A/C drops on the skin next...or maybe try the Zaditor drops on the skin...a brand new allergy eye drop.

I have had redness/ swelling under both eyes off and on since spring. Still have no idea why this is happening. Took someone's advice in this forum to try Eucerin cream and it's almost gone. Make sure it's the cream, not the lotion. Have been applying it under eyes 2-3 times a day. I started 2 days ago and it's SO much better! Since I have no clue why it's happening in the first place, I think I'll just make it part of my routine for now.

after 6 weeks of anitibiotics for possible staph infection ...the swelling the redness are gone...so I think it was exactly that. No topical creams were affective on it, hot/warm compresses didn't work on it either.

I have the same symptoms as nearly everyone here. I has recently started using Avon's ANEW REVERSALIST Illuminating Eye System since I am an Avon representative and was looking for an Anti-Aging product for under my eyes. Recently my lower eye lids have been red, puffy and burn!! I started using this stuff and it seems to keep it at bay. Not a cure though but so far a great relief. I have been without it for a week now and I am miserable!!!

I am ordering some for myself and hope it keeps working and does NOT get so bad that it quits working. For now it is a relief. I will reply again with a progress report after a couple of weeks.

did you get answer? did it go away? I have it, but ,mine goes from one eye to the other. today for the first time the swollen eye is really burning. been allergy tested to death, CT scan, some blood work, but referred to dermatologist at cornell next month. Been going on 2 years but non-stop now for 5 months.
