Hello. I'm 24 year old and I'm pretty desperate because I have a big problem that started to interfere with my normal sex life.
You see, after I have sex, I find both my inner vaginal lips are extremely swollen. But this isn’t some normal swelling like some of my friend experienced but really big one accompanied with pain and irritation. You wouldn’t believe in this but almost 15 hours after sex I suffer from this pain and irritation. My outer lips usually cover up everything, but now since the inner ones are swollen they don't close it hurts to sit or walk or close my legs.
I don’t know what to do. I started to avoid sex and my boyfriend has noticed this. God knows what he thinks about this! I haven’t told him anything because I'm a bit embarrassed.
Please help!
Well, you probably can assume that it is quite normal for these lips to swell a bit because of the increased blood flowing into it. The clitoris can also become larger as it is engorged with blood
But, they shouldn’t swell that much as you described. It is often a sign of some bacterial process in your vagina.
I suggest you to contact your gynecologist imidiately and let him check for some bacterial imbalance or hidden infections inside.
Some allergy to spermicides or gel especially if you are dry could also be the cause of your problem. Try using a lubricant such and maybe your problems could disappear.
