I am actively in the process of healing after 6 years. I haven't just stopped overnight, it reduced yet but it had become such a way of life that to actually stop it means I need to work with my psychologist. I kicked myself into recovery because of the damage I did to my teeth but it is a long process and yes those points help me avoid further damage to my teeth and by extension my mental health. they aren't stupid
