tender boobs

I had a phase of a couple of days when I was experiencing sharp pains through my right breast and nipple but would have a couple of shooting pains through my left breast as well. I was scared that something was wrong with my piercing that I have in the right nipple and that maybe a bacterium has entered and was causing the tenderness and shooting pains.
As I was reading about several infection with bacteria in nipples, I didn’t want any complications, so I went to see a dermatologist. She had a look and saw that nothing was wrong with my piercing.

Then she asked if I may be ovulating. And I totally forgot that I was ovulating and that all that excessive estrogen was the cause of my troubles.

My dermatologist told me that other women experience enlargement, tenderness and even breast nodules during ovulation. Do you think this may be your case as well?
