Hi im 35 yrs old and have been experiencing strange symptoms for months.
I worked in pub for 14yrs and smoked too so im really scared that i have something sinister.
It started after i ate a natcho which doubled me over in agony when it ripped me from my throat down to my stomach. never experienced pain like it before. Since then i have had enlarged tonsil on right hand side which has spots that come and go, my tubes felt like its permanantly on fire and my throat has throbbed and ached for so long. it is not painful like a sore throat but aches/throbs only on the right hand side (which is the side the natcho ripped) and im aware of it.
it has not got worse over the months but hasnt got better either. i feel like i have a lump in my throat but the ache is not there when i drink, eat or swallow.
I am a sports teacher and spend hours shouting which strains my throat also, it got so bad last week after double lesson that i felt like i was being strangled but only on that side of my neck. I took 2 paracetamol and 2 ibruprofen and an hour later it completely went.
I have been to docs who have given me antibiotics, acid reflux tablets, blood tests for glandular fever, thyroid (6mths ago) but to no avail. i have also had chest xray which came back clear. also been to dentist within last 6 mths and they didnt pick up on anything.
I have been living with this for ages and its starting to get to me now, most the time its there but of late has occasionally faded out for day or 2 before coming back.
Have also started getting warm sensation in right ear too.
Have appointment with ent next week to try and figure it out.
Please help put my mind at rest, im so scared.
thankyou in advance.

I'm so sorry to hear you're having these problems. Maybe you've got more than one thing going on, eg. an infection from the nacho trauma and vocal strain? I don't have any answers (I'm having horrible throat problems too and no solution after seven months), but please let us know how you get on at the ENT. And please try not to worry!

I am 34 years old I have the same exact symptoms even the pain in the right here recently. I too have been to the doctor many times and have had every treatment that you have as well. The parallel symptoms are quite strange and the fact that we're the same age. What's crazy is every time I go to the doctor they tell me I'm extremely healthy. But I feel like sh*t just about every day. Pain, heartburn, difficulty swallowing, swelling and throat, terrible stomach cramps, headaches, dizziness, it seems unless.
Have you found any answers?
