I just have to share how grateful I am to have had ablation. Traditionally ablation is just recommended for heavy periods -- after you are finished having kids, of course!
But ablation really knocked out my horrible period cramps. I was incompacitated for 3-5 days a month every month since I was 12. So at 34 after I'd had all the kids I was going to have, I went in for ablation.
Wow, did it work. I'm so happy not to have cramps any more or any bleeding at all! I do have slight pinchy pain now and then, still. Make sure you consider ablation for cramps after you are finished having children, as it wipes away the uterine lining for good.
And of course, make up your own mind on ablation. I read a whole lot about possible negative effects before I decided to try it. It just worked for me, but it may not be for everyone. Good luck!
