Hey, I have similar problems...It started when I was 16years old and I am now 24. Don't worry about endometriosis until your doctors tell you otherwise. It can be quite fearful if you simply read it off the net. Many women face horrible periods without having the disease. A common treatment is simply going on Birth Control pills. If you are too shy to ask your parents, its really easy to give them a medical reason and not the "I want to be sexually active..."
As for endometriosis and infertility, there are ways to prevent it and minimize it. While costly, very costly, you can freeze your eggs....
Taking Tylenol 3 (if not allergic to Codine) or a high dosage of Advil (ask your doctor for the right amount) taking these the night before your period arrives as well as the morning of helps minimize the pain. I hope this helps. Do go to the doctor though if you experience unbearable pain because its important to make sure you are okay. I've been hospitalized for this numerous times so I know how you all feel!!! Take care

I've been living with the exact same thing for 6 years now. I had NO symptoms from age 12 to 15 when I got my period. Then I remember it like it was yesterday, one month I felt soooo sick I threw up several times I was dizzy, nauseous, feverish but with cold flashes, stabbing pain when I go to the bathroom, the cramps are so painful I can't go on with a normal day, I had to go to the nurse's office because there was no way I could take a bus home. Ever since that month it happens every first day of my period! At first the symptoms would dissapear as soon as I got some sleep and woke up...like the magic cure =). Now not so much. Although sleeping or throwing up helps a little with the cramps, they don't completely go away for a couple days now. I REALLY hate this. I've gotten prescription medication that didn't work unless I had it with 2 advils, which I know is bad so I gave up on it and suffer with only advil. I'm going to the doctor this weekend.
A hot bath does help, but usually only until I get out. A lower back massage I find distracts from the pain in front...weird enough. A hot anything on your abdomen usually helps a little as long as you're in a position that doesn't hurt in the first place. A friend told me to have some neocitrine...and i know its for colds but it seemed to help a bit. I've tried everything...those are the only things that have any effect. Looks like I'll be visiting the doctor again...

I flowed like a river all through junior high and high school. I missed a minimum of one day of school every month. I would have horrible cramps, break out in hives, sometimes run a fever and almost always throw up. I took 1600 mg of Ibuprofen and it didn't do ANY good. This lasted through my early 20's. The doctors put me on every kind of birth control possible to try to reduce flow and cramps etc. I had a child when I was 25 and doctor said that if I wanted any more children I needed to try right away because I had endometriosis so bad. My husband and I were not ready to have another child. Within a couple of years I started having periods for months at a time. (flow for 60+ days at a time) Finally I got my insurance to o.k. paying for a hysterectomy.... the good news is not as good as you would think. They left my cervix because some women who have it removed complain of sexual disfunction..... the kicker is I still bleed once a month (barley spot) and I still get light cramps. Can you believe? Even some doctors who are not GYN don't believe me but my GYN says that it is definitely possible since they left my cervix. Crazy!!!!!! I have a beautiful daughter. I feel for you pain.
(Back in the day... sometime my mom's friend would rub my feet and ease the pain enough for me to get to sleep.... if I could take an hour nap they would go away but that was the only thing other than waiting it out)
This may sound crazy but when I got a little older if I could find a way to have sex (orgasm) the pain would stop also. I don't know if it is something about the contraction of the muscles but it worked.... Good luck to you!

Here is how I beat cramps -
Regular physical activity often reduces cramping in some women.
Supplementing your diet with zinc and calcium has been found to reduce cramps, bloating, and related PMS symptoms.
Over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or naproxen sodium used around the clock as soon as you notice the first sign of your period help to reduce the severity of cramps in many women by inhibiting the release of prostaglandins. Acetaminophen (e.g.-Tylenol) will help the pain but does not have the effect on the prostagladins.
Try taking a warm bath and using aromatherapy or using a heating pad on your lower abdomen or back. If you don't have a heating pad, a heating pad can be made by filling a sock with rice and heating it in the microwave.
Taking time for yourself, relaxing, and letting those around you know that you are not feeling yourself will help by reducing the stress of your everyday life that may contribute to your menstrual cramps.

Gosh, i am so glad im not the only one with these problems!!
I started when i was 10 and im 15 now, so 5 years of periods. However the first year or 3 were relatively pain-free, just getting used to it. Now that im used to it, obviously my body has to makeup something that is wrong with it. So I started getting pains, on the first day it was the worst, it was excruciating, ive come home from school with it before, but this time was worse, much much worse! i was in R.E and the pain just started to get worse, i got dizzy and sweaty in a relatively bright, airy classroom, my teacher sat me by the window and asked me if i wanted to go out, the pain and nausia had got to such a point that i said yes, and we were about to go down to first aid when i gagged, and she rushed to open the toilets for me. i wasnt sick, but i almost was, then when i arrived at first aid they told me to sit down and take deep breaths, i did but soon it was too much and i rushed to the toilets and threw up about twice. a nice teacher came in and offerd me some water and i had it, but by this time id had enough. I went around to the head of years and she said i looked awful and i agreed! i felt awful! next PC willams (our school police man) had me sat outside on a wooden chair facing into the sunlight, it made me feel slightly better, but what i experienced next was going to be a terrible memory for years to come. I threw up in a bin, yep, in a bin. It was terrible and the smell of my own sick made me want to throw up more. so i did. I had only had cheerios for breakfast so there was nothing much coming up, just some bile and the odd, half digested cheerio. The "nurse" (ok, she said she was a nurse for 15 years and now she had some other job at the school, ill just refer to her as the nurse) stuck by me throughout the whole thing and helped me. After my head of year rung home my stepdad came to pick me up and, i laid in bed trying to get over the pain whilst throwing up a couple of times. After the ibuprofen, i feel so much better, not 100%, but thats probably because im hungry, but my mum has said no food until she's sure im better. So thats that, i just hope this isnt a following trend. I usually take ibuprofen on the first day of my period, i simply forgot this morning, i wonder if things would have been different if i had taken some.

Hey ladies! I'm 24 years old and I'll let you know that I as well have this huge problem so I know EXACTLY how you ladies feel. I've had this problem since I was 17 and went through a whole lot going through this. I've been sent in and out of the ER on first days and I would literally just curl up in a ball for an hour or 2, eye's rolling back, cold sweats, throwing up, and sometimes just wished I could die so the pain would go away. I tried to fight it off, and even at one point was proscribed medicine from the doctors that helped for a while up until I ran out of the medicine and had to go back to fighting it off alone. It was devistating and I dreaded having my period every month. So I took the time to do some research and found out it was either Dysmenorrhea or Endometriosis that I had. Basically both are the same, and according to research, the only way to rid it was through surgery. My pocket was no where near being able to afford this kind of help, so I seeked for an alternation to help try and stop this.
I found out that I was lacking the vitamins and minerals needed in my body to help fight this thing. Lot's of woman stated certain things that may help prevent it, so I took all the options find that ladies took to help ease this, and found the cure for myself. It was about 4 months ago I did this research so I kind of forgot why I chose these vitamins but I knew it was what I was lacking, but I'll try the best to remember why I decided to take these. It may not work for everyone seeing as we all have different body types, but for me it worked and what I would like to say was a cure for me. I no longer have the painful menstrual cycles I once had on the first days. Sure I have some minor mensturals still on the first day, but it's tolorable and it puts a smile to my face. And so, I'd like to share it with you woman as well in hopes that this too will help you.
I take 3 vitamins basically everyday and only on the first day of my period, I take medicine. I mean I don't think you need to take it everyday, but the first time I tried this out I decided to start the vitamins a week before I knew my period might come. It helped, and so I decided to take it everyday just to be on the safe side.
Omega 3 Fish Oil: Lot's of woman's comments that I read online say that they lacked the healthy fatty tissues that we eat. For some woman, this alone helped to ease their pain but for me, I felt mine was a lot more serious than theirs to just take this alone. These you can pick up at walgreens or walmart. Nothing fancy, just the typical Omega 3 Fish Oil that they sell anywhere.
Vitamin B: This is a metabolism support according to the bottle I got from Walmart. The bottle I got is a Natural B vitamin, High Potency B-complex that fills for B1. B2, B3, B6, and B12 according to the label on the back. I guess for woman this is another nutrient that we lack I read somewhere on the internet. Oh and also, this vitamin makes your pee a yellowish, greenish color, so don't be afraid if you notice the change in that. It's just cleansing it out to my understanding.
Usana Chelated Mineral: When your on your period, your body gets rid of a lot of Zinc and Calcium which is why at times we feel tired and just want to relax. I read that eating things with Magnesium, Zinc, and Calcium help to make sure this keeps up in your body. But for me, I don't like or feel like eating at all on my first day so I decided to take vitamins that had these supplements in it already. Usana is the name of the brand that I use (which is perchesable online) and the type of mineral I use is the Chelated Minerals. I'm sure you don't have to take this specific brand where as there are vitamins out there that already have these 3 specific things in them, but this was the best I could get. I'm sure if the vitamins you look for in walmart/walgreens has these 3 things in it, that should work out too.
Aleve Liquid Gels: On the day of my period, I instantly pop in 2 Aleve Liquid Gel pils. I used to take Midol Extended Relief (the red box with blue caplets) but decided to try a different brand. They both are basically the same, maybe Midol might be better since it's made strictly for periods, so either one I think would be fine. Both have the main ingredient Naproxen sodium of 220 MGs. A couple years ago my doctor prescribed me straight Naproxen 500 MG tablets and I took that once every first days and it helped so much to a point where I could do jumping jacks. When I ran out of that, I had to fight it off alone and found that these 2 medicines have the same things only less of a dosage. Reason I was prescribed 500 was because my situation was worse that most girls and had to be pushed to a higher dosage. Again we have different bodies, so it's probably best if you took 1 tablet first before starting off with 2 tables of Aleve or Midol. You can get these again at Walmart or Walgreens. Just make sure it reads in the back that it has Naproxen because it is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It stops all that bloatedness from exceeding to make it worse.
Chamomile Tea (optional): lot's of woman I read up said that they drink this tea the day they start their period. For others this alone helps them out by itself. The first time I tried all this, I decided to drink it the first day. It's not that bad of a tea either, but the second time around I decided to go without this and I was still doing just fine. So if you'd like to drink some tea, this is what I would recommend.
Anyhow, while taking all this before your actual period day, a little exercise each day wouldn't be so bad either. I was told a minimum of walking 30 minutes a day helps out. I won't lie, I don't exercise, but I don't recommend not to just cause I don't.
Again, just to let you ladies know I am not a doctor. I'm just a bartender who just goes to work, comes home to relax, go out once and a while type of person. This is not a guarantee for all of us because we have different body types, but it's worth a try. It helped for me. I wanted to share this with you because I've shared the pain and suffering as well. It is NOT a great feeling at all. So go ahead and give this a try if you like and let me know how it goes. If you have any more questions about the vitamins I use, please feel free to CONTACT ME. Or even to let me know if it worked for you :)
Hope this helps ladies!

I have had my period since I was 16 (I'm lucky, I know...) However, I also have endometriosis severely. I used to sleep in the bathroom for 2-3 days soaking in the tub because I couldn't stop throwing up during my period. This is what I do now and it works wonders!
1) MAP YOUR PERIOD. know the EXACT day that you start every month.
2) The night BEFORE you are scheduled to start, take 2 ibuprofen before bed.
3) On the morning of the day you are supposed to start, take a Vitamin B supplement and two Ibuprofen. Also, use the CVS or ThermaWrap brand heating pads made for your back. Put two heat pads in the strap that comes with the heating pads and put this on with the pads on your back. Put another pad under the strap in the front where the cramps are of course.
4) EVEN IF YOUR PAIN IS GONE:: (this is the most important part) take 2 ibuprofen ever 3 hours. NO MATTER WHAT. you won't feel a thing! :-D
5) On the first day of your period make sure you eat lots of fruit. During your period you lose a lot of blood therefore your blood sugar drops. Keeping it up can help relieve you of those horrible cramps.
Hope this helps!

I started mine when I was 12, and it has been regular since. It has always been incredibly painful, and recently (about the past year) I have been throwing up every time I'm having my period. I have tried everything! Heat, cool, alternating heat and cool, hot baths, tea, ibuprophen, tylonal, sleeping, and even trying to ignore it! I also have started having pretty high grade (about 102) fever durring periods, as well as coughing a LOT. The fever won't go down when I take the meds. I've been to the doctor and they can't find anything wrong! Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am 14 years old and today i woke up completely shcoked to discoer i was on my period. Usually i start at the end of every month, so I guess it's not too strage I started very early september. Anway I was feeling fine early that morning, ate breakfast and stuff. But when I was just about to leave for school, the cramps came. I had forgotten to take my tylenol that morning but I though "Oh, well." Because usually I could deal with the cramps. But today I just wanted to die. I was soooo nauseaous all first and second period! Then after third period I asked my teacher if he could right me a note to the nurse's office. But as I was sitting there waiting for him to finish I dry heaved. My teacher looks at me and asks if I have asthma or am I having a panic attack or something, but when I try to explain I heave again and he grabs the trash can for me. Then after five minutes of just spitting in the trash can I finally threw up. It wasn't alot, but it still freaked me out. Anway he helped me to the nurses office and I called my mom and asked her to pick me up. That was about two hours ago. Now I'm at home, stressing cause I'm missing the rest of my classes and dreading the work I may have to make up. Anway I have never really been sick on my period before (Except one time when I was twelve, but then again, I was also in a hot car, next to two people, ate a doughnut from a seedy gas station, and my mom drugged me with WAY to much motrin to try to stop my cramping) As soon as I got back home I took some Tylenol, and the cramps stopped, and now I'm a bit hungry and want to go back to school. (Or maybe not)
Could my vomiting could have been a reslut of me not taking my tylenol that morning? :$
Now I'm scared this may start happening every month :-(

To the girl who is 15 and getting hot/cold flashes before/durring period and sick to your stomach....the same exact thing happens 2 me. I'm 23 and this just started like 2 years ago, it is really uncomfortable and now like half of every month sucks. I can't really say what to do because I'm trying to figure it out as well. I just know that it can't be normal to get this sick every month and it really affects my life. I'll let you know if I find anything out. Good luck 2! :-(
