Hi,
I saw a post recently about a tingling sensation around the perineum area which was followed up by a poster called BioMajor10 who asked whether it was accompanied by a constant sexual arousal feeling. This is exactly what i am experiencing.
I have had this on and off for basically 2 to 3 years. Doctors have found nothing and it's starting to get me down. I'm late 30s active and in good health.
Hoping BioMajor10 might be able to help me out?
Thanks.

I should add that I have had my prostate checked and all seems fine. In addition I notice that I occasionally get a twitch below the scrotum but that may just because I am hyper aware of that area now.

Just to clarify its sexual arousal sensation. The sensation is not accompanied with an erection or sexual thoughts etc. It is merely the sensation.

The area of the perineum (the space between the anus or rectum and the base of the testicles or scrotum) is a locus of nerves that either directly or by association can trigger feelings of sexual arousal. Remember, lots of nerves for many different systems run closely through this area. This area is also closely associated with the excitement provided by anal sex, or the feeling you get by having a lover push a finger into your backside. (pushing deeper into a male's anus can stimulate the prostate gland -- located just below the bladder -- which can lead to a stronger erection and ejaculation. But that's a another story.)
Since your doctor has not found anything obviously out of order down there, you may just be having a temporary firing of those nerves because they are physically in close proximity to parts that are being squeezed or manipulated as you move or sit, etc. I understand that it can be distracting, to say the least. Ask your doctor whether you might consider applying a topical anesthetic (something containing Benzocaine or similar pain killer, such as a "boil ointment", or a cream designed to prevent premature ejaculation) to that area. I don't believe that long-term use would be harmful, and you may just get some relief.
BUT DO ASK YOUR DOCTOR, FIRST.
