Welcome to womanhood. Tell your mother she will be proud and sad at the same time that she has lost her little girl but gained a woman. It is the start of your period as your body increases its hormones you will have periods but also you will have a lot of spotting too, its completely normal. Every female goes through and most of your friends your age if they don't have their periods yet are going through this right now too or soon. Your body has entered puberty and you are right on schedule.
