You could try Melatonin. It's a pill, but contains natural sleep hormones. Another idea is to make a regular nighttime routine. For example, maybe you take a nice hot shower, pet your dog and tell him "goodnight", snuggle up in bed, and listen to a calming playlist for 10 minutes before turning out the lights. This lets your mind know it's time to sleep. Hope that's helpful!
I have used melatonin to good effect. It is legal without a prescription in the United States, but in most other jurisdictions (at least in Europe) you would require a doctor to prescribe it. It can be found at most pharmacies.
Benadryl or diphenhydramine also has a similar effect. It is quite safe to use as long as you follow the instructions (don't take more than 2 pills or 50mg in a 6-hour period).
Take both about half an hour before you go to bed.
Well, you might have benadryl around the house, it's an allergy medicine. I have taken it before and it does make you tired.
I don't have anything to say, except don't drink coffee or black tea or anything else with caffeine before you go to bed...
