Hi i wonder if anyone can help me.

For a few months now i have been having these weird symptoms, and i went to my GP and he told me i have anxiety and gace me Tripiline for a month, the symptoms got better, but they never went away completely.

DEATILS: I am obese and weigh 160 kilos and im 1,83 meteres tall. I am active even though i could be more active. and i also smoke about a packet of cigarettes a day

In May this year i decided to quit smoking and started reducing the smoking and eventually got Bronchitis and quit smoking. During the period i didnt smoke i didnt have the symptoms.

I statred smoking again 3 months later though :( Stupid me. But i am now wanting to quit smoking and loose weight as well.

THe symptoms i have happen at random times, but used to happen just before i went to bed, my heart would start rushing or i would just feel like its its a harder heart beat the n normal, and i would get a bot anxious and also get this tingly feeling on my upper body. Also i would feeel like my heart would skip a beat or something, similiar to the feeling in your throat when you cry too much, as if u breath and there is a gap in your breathing. during one of these "attacks" i got so paranoid that i went to the emergencies, my blood pressure was 180 by 110, they did a EKG and took x-rays of my heart and lung area and didnt find anything wrong. My doctor did a couple of exams and told me i have been suffering from anxiety attacks.

Lately they dont seem so intense but i get them almosrt every day when in the past i only got them randomnly twice a week or so...

As anyone felt these symptoms? Due to my weight i get worried it could be my heart.

Its very uncomfortable, lying down and taking a nap seems to help but sometimes i feel so anxious it gets worst and i have to get up and do something. I think exercise also helps...

Hello,

Tripiline seems like a really odd choice for treating anxiety and what sounds to me a panic attack that you're experiencing. I'd recommend you to try to get referred to a psychologist, but also, see your GP and do the tests necessary to see in what shape your heart is. It could be done in one visit, all they need are your ekg results, blood pressure and a doctor to examine them. And as far as Tripiline treatment - that's a really old tricyclic antidepressant, usually the doctors first go with prescribing newer antidepressants or anxiolytics first, since they generally have fewer side effects.

Wish you all the best,

Nicole
